I picked up an injector razor from a shop and the guy threw in a gem JR. And a clix razor, it looks like it all made from bakelite and it's in its original case, the top cap is a little scratched but other then that it looks fine. Anyone have any info, I had never heard of them.
Were they like the ones here, about 3/4th down the page? http://www.usarmydatadepot.com/qmc___class_29_8502.htm
Made by Conrad, makers of the 1930s Barbasol razors, offered in a couple different varieties 1944-46. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
The bakelite Clix is good, the all-metal Clix (EZ Flo) is better. It's a sleeper that's survived more den purges, sell-offs and Travel Box departures than any other I've owned. One of the very, very few razors I will not surrender.
Simplex, Clix, Clix. Very similar geometry but I'm not aware of any relationship between Conrad and Simplex. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
Those were made during WWII, and sold into the Quarter Master where troops could buy them. During the time period Brass was in demand for the war so the went with other materials where they could, hence the Bakelite handles. The Gem Jr. is based on the 1912, which is a great SE razor. I have not gotten around to trying out the war time Clix that I have. Oh and if you have the card stock box that they came in with the Quarter Master info, that's even better.
