  6. Wow....that's a statement against CVS...they all should. Mine does. You could also try Clubmanonline.com.

  7. I appreciate it Charlie. Just something I have to do now. Fortunately we did find a medication that is working. And, it doesn't actually ask the pancreas or liver to do anything more than they're doing. My liver is under siege from the medication that tells it to make less sugar, plus the fact I have no gall bladder or bile reabsorbtion (however that's spelled) in my small intestine thanks to losing the final foot of it. So the liver tries to compensate by dispensing bile at the most unnecessary times and levels. My pancreas, such as it is, is clearly unable to do anything else besides what it's doing. I'm almost afraid to see what's left in there at this point. I was down to just a third of it still in existence in early 2015. We tried one injectible that was designed to stimulate the pancreas to increase insulin production and got exactly less than zero results from that. So I know we've got it maxed out at this point. (I also had to hold my breath that the medicine didn't set off a round of pancreatitis, which is what put me in this situation to begin with).

With the new "magic pill" my level has dropped into the target zone except when I don't watch my diet. Exercise helps, but not as much as the diet. My A1C, which was 8.4 on the last visit is now down to 7.6, based on averaging in my meter. They want me under 8.0 so it looks like I'm on my way. I'd love to be under 7.0, but not sure if that's feasible.
  8. Well Paul....
The nearest town, they call it a city, is a colledge town. If it doesn't have a Budweiser label on it, or round and tastes like pizza, you can't find it.
    Well....
    Thanks

  9. Welcome aboard!! Glad to see some of the guys have already welcomed you in making me look like the guy who's always late to the party. Oh wait, yeah, that's me. Anyway glad you joined us. We're here to help you learn to make the most of that gear and also do everything we can to persuade you to buy more! (not really, but it happens....especially to me it seems). Ask anything, say anything, jump and have fun!
  10. Oh my. We need to send a team to help them discover something with a different label!

  11. That must be the case with SMALL college towns/cities. Cambridge, MA has Harvard, but there's plenty of CVS' and other drug stores in the place. Now that I think about this, the "city" I was in last summer in Colorado is also a college town-Colorado School of Mines. Mines ain't exactly Harvard, but it also ain't exactly South-Northwest Podunk U. But anyway, in the general area I stayed in, there was no drugstore. There was beer and pizza though.
  12. The CVS in Town sells cold beer and wine.
The one on the outskirts doesn't.
The Wal-Mart also caters to the students.
When ya got 10,000 kids to feed and supply, the few thousand locals know who butters their bread. I don't blame them for that.

  14. Many do, if they're not at a bar.

It's not my cup of tea, I only go to town to work or if I need somthing I can get there. We normally cross the river into West Virginia. There is a better selection of store's that have what I need. Most stores can get somethings from another store shipped in, like Lowe's, Sherwood Williams, and the like. But it's easier and quicker to go to another Lowe's or Sherwood Williams or a car parts store in another city across the river. Everyone does that around here.

    I remember that smell!
  20. I used to tell folks that l lived so far out that I could beat my wife any time I want and nobody would hear the screams. And.... even if the windows were down and they did, the bruises would be all healed before the cops got there.
