Had a pretty relaxing day after being out most of last night. Time to take care of that two day beard I have every Sunday. The Fatboy and Voskhod are still loaded up as is the Arko. Just had to figure out a brush. Staying with my natural brushes and I got the hybrid out again. This brush is amazing. Great look and feel with the mesquite handle and the boar/badger knot is almost too luxurious. I went looking for one of these for the project I bought the TGN Silvertip for but they didn't have it in the right size.

The brush turned Arko into lather faster than some synthetics. Seriously, this thing eats soap and just shoves out lather. The Fatboy is wide open, obviously, and each pass was just as smooth and easy as the one before it. Three of those passes brought the baby home and left me with no irritation or burn at all from the alum. Good way to end the day. Hope you're ready for your Monday and the week beyond!

It is the differences that make life interesting. If we all liked the same thing that that one razor and brush would cost a fortune. While I primarily use modern straights I do like to see the pics and read about everyone's shaves with other tools.

Glad the Yellows worked, Clint. I have yet to encounter a St Petersburg Gillette blade that I didn’t find decent.
Any idea whether those knots are hand-tied?

 

Likewise. The exception for me is the MonoBilt, but if you meant Gillettes only, agree completely.

Are those the now unobtanium Russian Blues, Clint? @Keithmax sent me a few tucks of those a year or two ago. Great blades.

 

Looks like that slim is turned up to 9. Bravo!!
