Wow! Nice job! Except for the two I mentioned earlier, I tend to find them in the $30 - $65 complete, and in definitely used condition. Not bad condition, just obviously enjoyed.

 

I also have a complete one that I got through eBay for $6 plus $7 shipping. It is in rougher condition so will be spare parts. So how in the word are you suppose to be able to make 60 double strokes on the hone in a a minute while still flipping the blade softly enough to hear a double click?

It was suggested on one of the sites. I guess I should clarify. Mine isn't completely complete. No instructions. The envelope that I thought had instructions turned out to have the spare strop. But on one every set of directions that I read online, that all talk about being gentle and not flipping the blade too hard. It was suggested on one site to hear a double click one for the safety bar and the other for the blade.

 

So before you change your avatar....what's the current one mean? I figure it's some sort of binary code thingy...but I have no idea how to read binary...

That's funny, I had never heard the double click thing until you just mentioned it, but I figured it was for the safety bar and blade.... I's all intuitvousness like that... I'll probably start messing with it over the weekend, I want to finish this week (Friday) with my IMOR shaves...It's going to be real tough, too, now that I got all that new stuff in from England...


Opinon wanted: I found some straights today... would it be bad form to go over to SRP and post pics and ask their approximate worth? The prices seemed a bit high to me, but they were definite lookers - the one is, I believe, either bone or ivory with a picture etched/carved in it... a hunting scene, pretty elaborate...kinda looks like scrimshaw or something...
