Good morning all. My sleep schedule is all messed up for some reason, so I'm up early when I should be sleeping or about to sleep. Might as well make the most of this morning and actually accomplish things *GASP*.

This morning's first hard choice: what razor do I want to shave with?

    Morning Corey.

I ended up sleeping for a couple or three hours this morning to make up for the sleep I didn't get yesterday afternoon. :happy102

I'm up, having coffee, and wondering if I'll have the motivation to venture out during rainy rush hour to find something breakfast-like.
No... I'm thinking I'll hold out for a nice, less-busy brunch.

Oh, and I think I'm going to give my 1912 style Ever Ready another shot after the Wilkinson I have in my Tech gives out.

Morning Greg. I ended up using the '58 SS Red Tip with a Personna blade. Not a bad shave, but something about the whole SS line seems to not feel right. My '55 SS also leaves me somewhat cold. I don't think I've found the right blade for either at the moment. Neither like the Derbys all that much, and the Red Tip seems iffy with the Personna. There's no nicks or irritation, but it seemed like a little more work to get a good shave out of them than with some of my other razors. Though I'm sure it doesn't help that I've spent about a week and a half going between the excellent Ball End Tech and the equally excellent Merkur HD.

I need coffee and breakfast now.

Nice. You ever have any problems with it wanting to open in your pocket or anything? I am looking at a small Boker Magnum button lock. I like small knives and have been very happy with the other Magnums I have.

Chris talked me in to getting a Spyderco tri-angle sharpmaker. I had a hard time spending that much on a sharpener, but that thing is great.

No, I haven't had any issues but I usually keep it locked.

I've got a sharpmaker also and love it, I've been wanting to order some extra fine sticks for it.

Justin, sorry to hear about the RR troubles....

I pulled a zinger of an April's Fools prank last night at church, an impromptu, unplanned, off-the-cuff prank that was very effective - just so you know, such circumstantial events are extremely rare for me.
We were in the youth room, we had all just got settled in, and I started with normal announcements and such.
"We have "this and that" coming up in 3 weeks, and "the other" right after that...." etc, etc.
Then, it hit me...several of my youth are really into the "Twilight" stuff - I don't see the big deal, and I'm highly reserved about how "good" it is, but hopefully they will continue to grow and learn and get to a point of seeing if it lines up....but anyway, I then went
"And, I want y'all to know, I watched Twilight last night.........and loved it!"

a full minute later when all the noise settled down enough that I could talk again, they were none too happy with the phrase "April Fool's!"

but me and the other adults were rather tickled

    you may carry on, now

    Mornin' all,

Picked up a Hirsh drill lathe from my aunt last night-- I didn't think it was complete, but it turns out that the previous owner had stuck the headstock screw into a little recess along with a few spare adjustment bolts! WOOHOO! Now all I gotta do is clean it up, sand down the base tubes and head over to Harbor Freight for some cheap chisels!

I actually read yesterday that you can turn Polymer Clay on a lathe... I'm seriously considering trying that out.

The downside is, you can't turn bowls with this one, but handles should be just fine.

    I'm stoked.

Morning all! Shaved with my slim dialed to 9. I think I should have used a fresh blade instead of a three day old red IP. Even so, I got a close shave with minimal irritation. I think it would be no irritation if I'd used a fresh blade.

The wife's got a nasty cough and won't call to make an appointment with the doctor. I figure I'll give it today to see if it gets better then I'll try to make her go tomorrow.

I get it. I didn't think to try and pull an April Fool's with my youth last night. My group's 99% boys so a Twilight gag would've gone over like a lead balloon. Good one, though. :D

yeah, it was very much a "had to be there" thing, but it was a good one
I was surprised at how many of the boys were into it...granted, it's the Jr. High boys, but still

hope your wife gets better, my wife's difficult to get to the doctor, too (almost as difficult as me).

Hey Micah, you get the email from Sonicwall yet?

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, sushi. I believe that is on the menu plans for this evening. Tomorrow I am thinking a nice fat veal chop.
