Once upon a time I used to carry pocket knives. But as I am not allowed to have them at work or when at college, I haven't carried one in almost 20 years.

In regards to the RR, looking at some of Dave's older posts, it looks like he suggests running the blade on the hone several hundred times to start with and not just the thirty or so recommended in instructions (60 double strokes a minute is the speed to stroke, but it only suggests 30 double strokes). So I guess I have a bit of honing to do tonight.

Oh my, I would love to get a lathe! Wood turning were my favorite projects in Junior High woodshop classes. I would say high school as well, but I preferred small engine mechanics... barely.
