Nice combo! My tub of the same soap was a previous batch & different label. Florida Water is high alcohol and not much else but scent. I've been looking for glycerin to fortify my next refill. Might crush some menthol crystals into it, too.
Thank you, Gentlemen. The only bad thing about being back is that it meant back to the office this morning...
Keep in mind my inexperience and exposure to different manufacturers, knots and various sized brushes.....I only have 8 brushes in rotation (4 boar, 4 badger). 10 brushes purchased...the other two will be PIF'd soon. One badger that is very scritchy/pokey, and one synthetic. I do not consider the Zenith boar knots to be scritchy (pokey) at all. Scrubby, slightly stiff, but that dissipated really quick for me, maybe a week. The Zenith knots I have are the 27.5/28mm diameter and 57mm loft. Similar in density to my Semogue OC cherry handle boar. Squeezing all four boar knots at the handle exit, the Omega 10098 seems slightly thin in comparison, and ends up bing just a little 'floppy' (due to 3mm more loft, I think). Several here helped enable me on that purchase, and I'm grateful for that, not a regrettable purchase at all. The 10098 knot is very nice, broke in very quickly, and looks/works very well in the 30DC LE v2 handle that Jason made (using it tomorrow). Since that purchase, I'm thinking the Omega 10098 knot is better for softer creams (ToBS, AoS), and the Zeniths are good for the harder 'creams' and definitely for any puck. Hope that helps a little!
Nice shave! I enjoy the Blackhawk (and Feather Pros...) as well, Terry. I keep meaning to put some weight in the handle, though.
I see machining like it's cut from a stainless steel billet rather than cast Zamak. The two outer pins seem smaller that most caps. Distinctive. Someone ought to recognize it. You won't find it on the bay. PM me for a link to a less traveled auction site. It does. Not only do manufactures adjust and change their products, there's variation because it's an organic source of bristles. I'm happy with my Omegas. I just might be happier with a Zenith!
Wow, you even found software labels to match the orange and tan of the brush, Jim. You are the master...
I appreciate it but I have enough watches..........heck I have enough razors but I keep accumulating more.
I am one of those folks who is looking to transplant a Zenith, Blair. I have two 26mm knots in plastic. All of my other transplanted boars are Omegas, and I was surprised to see that there is no plastic 'cup' like on those. I will let you know how it compares to yours when I am done. Given that I haven't had time to hit the lathe room in over a month, I'm hoping to get in there soon.
Nice to shave at home for sure, Jim. I hadn't heard of Harvest Moon, off to read the scent profile now...
