I see Hitler, Einstein, Christopher Lee, and Shep....

    same in Texas

I've been interested in those too, but as long as I have access to lathes at work....

I've wondered the same with the drill press, too. Same basic concept, but you'd have to have a very adjustable drill, and it would probably be a lot trickier to chisel sideways, but I'd think it would work in a pinch.
Also not sure how you'd adjust for the size of the blank, I guess the tailstock would have to adjust up

    thanks

yeah, "drop it"....tell you what, there's gonna be a constipated cat if something similar happens again...
"no honey, I don't know what's wrong with the cat....maybe too much fiber?"

Well that's just typical. So they'd rather let it collect dust than sell it...that's what loopholes are for! :happy102

the bunny usually gives his reports to Shep, but there is a icon in the top right corner of every post that reports the post to the admins
it looks similar too, but maybe not exactly, like this:

Micah, I just noticed your avatar being animated. You often do those so discreet, like the blinking eyes in a previous one

Thanks for noticing, I'm going for that whole "Wait, did that thing just move?" effect.

I can hear Wagner's Die Walküre playing as we all chant... "Kill the kitty, kill the kitty, kill the kitty cat."

I got three passes with it... it just feels awkward and some angles are very difficult to do while keeping the blade flat. Of course, I used to have that problem with Gem/Ever-Ready as well. So I am sure I will get over that one.

I dunno... it is kind of like a demented bobble head. But I thought that was what you were going for. That or a cross between the weird Pepsi Max commercial and the weird commercial that used the "da da da" part of the Rammstein "du Hast" song (or was it from another song... it has been too long)

Or if you wanted something a little more modern...

*edit* someone added a cheesy animated video to the song.

I like the blinky-avatar. Thought I was hallucinating from sleep deprivation for a couple seconds.

The song you're thinking of is not from Rammstein. It was used for that fahrfrompuking VW advertising campaign. Some college kids would ride around picking up furniture while nodding to the beat. I don't know who made it, but the song was not Du Hast by Rammstein. Speaking of Du Hast, they released a version of it with English lyrics and it was laugh out loud funny. The German original was already pretty silly (bunch of 30 y/o German men writing angry techno music for disaffected American teens) but the English version kicks it up a couple notches.

Oh boy am I rambling. Too bad I can't take a nap at work. :happy102

    Well that is too simple.

Isn't it just better to draw a straight line across the circle (anywhere) and then bisect that line. That line (the perpendicular bisector of your random line) is a diameter of the circle. Who cares if it is hard to bisect a line on a circular stick of wood when you have to extend your compass beyond the boundaries of the wood. That is what makes it more challenging and important to do this way. Then, once you have the perpendicular bisector of your random line (AKA the diameter of the circle) construct the perpendicular bisector to the previous bisector. Where they cross you have constructed the true geometric center of your circle.

No, I am not a math teacher.. really... Why would you say that? OK... I admit that flaw....
