Yo Yo Yo..Welcome to the Party, my friend..
Make yourself at home...you and that sexy 'A' type beast can slide on up to the menthol bar and chill..

Hard to believe the Good Col. Schick nailed it so hard on his first try.

That beauty is so far ahead of it's time...no one has caught up yet!!! Schick was a genius and he wasn't even trying...He only invented the repeaters to make enough money to start manf. of the first electric!!

That kills me...He invented one of the greatest shaving systems evah!! Just to make some fast bread...So he could invent what he really wanted to...

Too crazy!! Can't make up stuff like that!!

The repeaters always looked to me like Buck Roger's favorite shavers...

Well thought I would give this Valet Autostrop C1 a new addition to my razor collection (1st use) and used some caution after watching CAP use his. I had to do some repair to mine and it was interesting because there is not much information on the razor. Previous owner had the tension bar to far down (over bent it) so tension could not be applied to blade in the blade stops a must or the blade will just rattle while shaving, also did a blade stop repair. Now to the shave, the C1 is not for a Newbie IMO to shaving even if it looks cool, it has a lot of blade feel with no top cap. About as close to a straight razor a person can get. Took my time and about the razor weight pressure most of the time and received a CCS,DFS,BBS & no weepers or nicks and the Alum block indicated not much irritation.;) If you like shaving challenges this will not let you down.:love029:

Used a J3 again, this one loaded with a Proline. Just as smooth as yesterday with the Japanes Schick on board, will be interesting to see how long the AC Proline blade last compared with the more expensive Injector blade.

    CHECK IT OUT!!!

Look what our very own @Karl G laid on me!
He knows about my attachment to the Schick Hydro-magic I2...That was the first razor I ever saw my Pop shave with, and many years later, he gave me that razor to learn to shave with.

So look what Karl piffed me!

Absolutely NOS, still had the metal blank blade in it!!!

Not for long! I felt like I was sharing the razor grand-opening my Pop had back in the mid '50's when he first got his

I used the original gold blade dispenser to but a new Schick Proline B-20 in it...
    Shave was perfect!! Absolutely Perfect!!

    Thank You Karl!!

That is a really cool piece and story behind it. If not best shaving I certainly think the I2 is one of the best designed Schick razors ever made. I own 4 and soon possibly 5 distinctly unique versions of the I2.

    Omega 11126 boar
    Cyril Salter Solid soap
    PAL Injectomatic
    Schick Proline [ 7 ]
    Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion

It was quite obvious from the off that the blade was on the wane, and the quality of the finished Shave was below par. The star of the show was the little Omega brush, though it looks a scrubby little thing once lathered up, its tips are so soft when applying the lather. A great little brush that does not seem to be in favour these days.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Palmolive Shaving Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 Brush. I did two passes with the TNNSER razor with a CVS CS SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with English Leather AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I had to do a test drive of my virgin Pal injecto-matic 1952> razor and the razor is solidly built, easy to find the sweet spot for angle and will not disappoint a person with reasonable hand technique. I used a Schick blade (1) combined that others have suggested and received a excellent shave. My Schick Proline blades I have not received yet and wanted to test them in this one. Just a great razor in the hand also.
Results CCS,DFS,BBb and the Alum block indicated nothing.=:happy088::eatdrink047:

I think I am going to join this thread in using my GEM and Schick collection soon. I like that you all group both Schick and GEM together. While I love my DE collection, these old SE's are among the finest designs ever produced.

    My collection includes:
    first generation bumpless MMOC
    MMOC
    1958 Push Button GEM
    G-Bar GEM
    1912 GEM
    opening Type E Schick
non opening 1939 Type E Schick
