Great shave today. I had a Smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Nice Old, Big razor. I left the patina on this one, because, it just looks right, to me. Adjustable Arko August!! August 23 Razor - Soviet "Ideal" (Super Adjustable Clone) (9) Blade - (3) Soap - Arko Brush - I*V 10 "The Moreau) Post - Alum Got a little bloody with this razor last night but no Russian razor scares me. Well, ok so not this one anyway. Back to it for a third shave and I went with the hybrid brush to whip the Arko into perfection. Three deliberate, relaxed, and confident passes brought the shave to a perfect finish and no blood was found in the building. Alum was mostly quiet, though a bit warm as it has been with this razor. That extra gap and blade exposure just tends to do that. I'm sure if I'd go to it as a daily driver it would smooth out. It's not horrible, just not quite the same caliber as the Consul when comparing it. Since this razor is basically the Super Adjustable clone, tomorrow I'll switch to the Gillette SA and get a direct comparison. I've no doubt the Gillette will win, but it will be fun to do.
