I think I picked the right pen to start looking for in the shops. It's nice to find a nib that's worth 2 to 4 times what you paid for the entire pen.

Typically all the shopkeepers know is you're looking for "a fountain pen". Best to keep it that way. :D

Always keep it that way! I don't know much about the pens, even the ones I have, as they belonged to an Uncle who worked for and retired from, Parker Pens in Janesville, WI.

I don't know jack about the old pens but I should probably try and learn. That's one of the few items around here that's abundant in the antique stores and doesn't have price tag that reads "arm/leg".

Well, it's not something you make when you want it right then.:happy102
But once it's made you have a week's supply (depending on your level of consumption).
The concentrate you get from a Toddy brewer will generally keep in the fridge for up to 7 days.
As far as being expensive supply wise, yes... but I think Toddy's sales blurb makes a valid point in that by making coffee from the concentrate, you only make as much as you need when you want it.
How many times have most of us made a pot of hot brewed coffee and then not gotten around to finishing it before it either gets that nasty burnt taste or find that it's just 2 or so cups more than we actually wanted?
Less waste is the trade-off for the amount of coffee used per batch.

And sun tea is something best made on days when you're going to be busy.
Put it out, and go do whatever else you had to do that morning/afternoon.
By the time you're done, it will be too. ;)

    oh.. and good evening, everyone.
Once again what was supposed to be a short afternoon nap turned into nearly 6 hours of sleep. :o

I did that this morning, thankfully there was 5-6 others helping at the wrench session so I wasn't missed.

Shep we always make the days better in here.

Morning folks. I broke out a 1912 that I have not used in a while. Transferred a 3 day old Pal blade to it and went to town with some Williams this morning. Followed it with some Special Reserve (just for you Dave). I feel sorry for the Cartridge and DE guys this morning :D What a great shave to start the day.

So what's cooking around the sandbox today?

    Morning everyone!

Well did the complete shave with the RR today, no touch up with a DE needed. It is finally sharp enough and my technique adapted enough that it gave an excellent shave. However, it is going to be relegated to weekend use. I woke up my wife yesterday by running the strop. Today, I woke up the dog and she wanted to go out mid strop.

Not much going on here today, just the normal Sunday routine. Talk to all of you later.
