I think this razor qualifies for this thread. It is an SE that uses a DE blade plus the way the razor head is designed it shaves like a GEM style SE razor in that you have to use a very shallow angle to riding the cap. Without a shim it has some chatter to it but really close shave for a mildish razor. Use a shim and it takes this razor to whole nother level. If I had to compare it using Micromatics this razor would be solid third place in closeness of shave shimmed with only a MMOC or the Clog Pruf Peerless giving better results while outperforming the standard Clog Pruf and any of the Flying Wing Bullet Tip variations.

So glad that one finally found it’s true home :happy093: Blow a few joyful notes on that horn for me - very happy it’s in your hands and putting a smile (and a fine shave) on your face. :happy036:

    Vulfix 404- mixed "The Grosvenor"
    Vitos Super Red
    PAL Injectomatic
    Schick S/S Single-Japan [ 5 ]
    Tuff Green A/S Lotion

Another Injectomatic shave after a poor one yesterday due to a failing blade. This one has a fresher blade and the combo works well, as the Shave was smooth and comfortable with the quality of finish that I associate with with the Injectomatic.

1st shave with this older Eveready 1914 razor was great and looking forward to a week of use.
Result so far CCS,DFS,BBS and the Alum block indicated no issues of irritation. The blade I'm using is a Gem Personna SS PTFE (3rd use). The razor is smooth, forgiving and indicating a great razor already.[IMG]

You know, I tried to PIF that NOS Hydro-Magic to @Bird Lives and it wasn’t easy. First, he tried to talk me out of it. No dice. Then he sent me a unique razor in return - under the theory, no doubt, that one good PIF deserves another. :happy088:

Today I took possession of a private labeled Kampfe Bros Super Six. It’s a Stoll which was Sears and Roebuck’s brand.

It looks like it was the design inspiration for two of my favorite SEs - the 1914 and the 1924. It’s got a very funky clip that I’m not yet comfortable with but shaves super, super smooth and left me with that face rubbing goodness. :happy036:

Lashed out today using the pricey Japanese Schick in the Supply for the first time. The Shave was smooth and comfortable and the finish was one of the best that I have got from this Razor. However, in all honesty I do get ultra close finishes with other Injectors.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Palmolive Shaving Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 Brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels Lather Catcher razor with a J.A. Henckels Wedge Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with English Leather AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Hey man...don't think for a minute, I was trying to match your pif

    That's impossible!

But I did want to put you in the position, of having to watch your mail-box...lol...

That Super Six design is the Cru-steel Lather-Catcher with a shovelhead type blade cover attached. The top snap in back has a weak blade cover stop. So the top can continue past the stop and push the blade spine holder down.

So if you put a finger under the blade spine holder thingy, to hold it in place, while you close the top. And just close the top til it hits the blade holder snap...Everything should be lovely...

Thanks again my friend and Schick-head brother...Great shaves.
