Congrats! My only advice is to make sure blade is aligned well. There is a good amount of wiggle room, as with the Maggard.

My Razorock 37 German has play too.

The Putali heavy duty slant razor is quite mild. A kitten to say the least.
A heavy razor with a large head .

Took 3 passes with 2 Feather blades to do an OK job.
The mild mannered razor is a keeper, but not going to get a very close shave from this one.
