Nice shave Neal. I fell down the SE rabbit hole once. I seemed to have dug it deeper over the last year.

Snap Ons! Gold, too. Those set ya back. The Snap On trucks seem to visit auto mechanics on the regular to collect their payments.

I've got a couple second hand with their label. How do you rate em next to vintage Craftsman wrenches? I still have my cobbled together set, but replaced end wrenches and socket sets, both metric and imperial with fresh Craftsman's a couple years ago. Got the fresh sets still in boxes in barter. Amazing how much folks will pay for a couple 3/4" MDF sub-woofer boxes built to the speaker's specs.

Sure. Buck and Old Timer, too. Traded an old Zippo for the second from the left three blade carbon steel. It's my EDC. Saving the Swiss Army for one of the grand daughters. I though everyone had a Buck 110.

Shh... Don't tell him I've been checking the Facebook Marketplace. He still thinks I'm only looking for a watch. Need to get some newer wheels under me. Thinking about retiring the '86 Ford and maybe getting something only 10 - 15 years old.

Our Snap-On dealer was famous for hustling the young mechanics into a starter set that had a convenient payment plan. After he retired MAC tools swooped in and took over the territory.

    New blade. (#3)

I notice the ends on the brush are now beginning to split. The worst of the scritch has gone as well and its become much more supple.

No issue with soap pick up today. I am just going back to the puck after each pass. The soap lathers easy so its not a struggle.

A quick shave today. 15 mins all in.
A DFS+ and i am stopping the buffing for a bit. In fact i am moving away from chasing the baby and accepting what a std 3 pass shave is giving me. I am looking to reduce irritation and buffing is a major component i feel.

The soap; I had said in previous posts that i found the soap "Meh". I think now that i was correct with that. Its a nice (if very subbtle) scent and its a hard, well made puck which will last ages and is easy to lather, but, shave performance is just so-so. The sweet spot between dry or wet lather is tight. Too dry and its difficult to use and kills the shave. Too wet and the lather really thins. Outside of this sweet spot, slickness is poor. Post pass touch ups are problematic.
The heavy metal bowl is impractical as well.

It is a lifestyle product. For the money, there is far better imho.

Well good Wednesday morning to all.
Trying out a new razor today, loaded wit Feather, ready to go. Looking like a good shaver I lathered up the Arko and go to work. Mild, gental, this heavy hitter is a kitten. The first pass was good, went for a second pass and easy as pie. I wasn't smooth as I like so loading up a new Feather blade and going for number three. OK, the third pass with a new blade did OK. The second pass felt like I had removed the blade before shaving. Don't know what it is about some razors, instead of pulling or tugging it just stops cutting, this is one of them. I'm about there so a work shave doesn't got a fourth pass. The head shave was OK, but not as close as I'd like, but two passes and done.
This big guy couldn't hurt a flea, but for the mild mannered razors, it did OK. Not gonna load a third blade so I'll go as I am, not terrible, but not great. So much for the Putali slant, I'll keep it.

So, if I'm feeling off, needing a nice mild easy going shave, I'll grab this.
    Well off to work.
    all
    Enjoy
