Well, yeah... but I've actually thought that since I was a kid.
However, as a kid growing up in a Southern Baptist household, I was told you weren't supposed to say such things. :happy102

We have several extra holidays down here already.

I was going to mention that it had nothing to do with being spring.. but I do not EVEN get into those discussions.. we have a few Preacher types that can take care of that.:D

Nope. Not gonna do it. Read my lips. :D

I do the Dana Carvey's George Bush Sr. impression for my 2 year old son all the time. He doesn't get it but I get a kick out of it. Ah for the days when SNL was funny...

    Goodmorning, everyone.

    Cool, what'd you get?

Oh, now I see... I've never tried one, but they look like a decent cheap pen to me and people seem to love them. They don't have the appeal of a vintage pen (for me), but I do love piston fillers. The nib/flow tweaking (I'd guess) is more of a requirement than an option, if you want it to write decently at all. $6 is pretty cheap for that, unless you know how to do it yourself. Probably a great starter pen.

Hey Cal. You're a good son. Hope you have some fun out gardening. Planting carrots? I miss helping mom with the gardens - love her up while you can, my friend.

Um... what can you say? People that do stupid s**t like that can end up dead, although they did look like they were having fun. :happy102

I agree, nowhere near the same appeal as a high quality vintage pen. But from my standpoint I want to find a good value pen and put it through it's paces before I decide to step up the the vintage market level. Granted FPN has been taunting my wallet with some $50-$70 pens, but I don't know enough about 'em to justify pulling the trigger.

    Hey Dustin,

    Good choice!

I started by sending out a couple heirloom pens to be restored - well, I really started out with Sheaffer school pens in grade school. The restoration turnaround was long enough that by the time they came back to me, I'd learned how to change a sac and get a pen up and running. Antique stores and ebay became familiar haunts as I slowly picked up inexpensive stuff.

It doesn't have to cost a fortune to get into vintage pens (not much more than vintage DE razors - probably less than vintage straights). Still, a pen like the Reform is a great place to begin. They have a great cool factor with the ink view barrel and the steel reform nibs are (I'd guess) smooth writers. I bought a Reform calligraphy pen years ago from Speerbob. It's of a similar vintage and it's a great pen. I think you'll be really pleased.

Oh, I know what it's really about.
The discussion about why it's not on a set day every year is more fun. ;)
Just saying, for the sake of symmetry... Easter... Wester
Or maybe that's why we have Westerns but not Easterns?

I thought that's what martial arts movies are. Especially the ones with the really out of sinc dubbing. I suppose we just invented a new name for the genre.

    Ahoy!

Finally got a decent lather out of my newest recipe puck last night! I think the leather fragrance oil has affected the lather building properties, but I finally got it worked out. Now if I could just figure out what to call the scent...

    Ahoy hoy!

Yet another vintage Estie SJ arrived today. Once again I bought it more for the nib than the pen itself. It's a nice red one, but the insides are crispy. Another petrified sac.

Nib is a 9550. Not as nice the 9128 I got on Saturday, but definitely serviceable. And once again, less with the entire pen than if I tried to buy the nib alone.

    Hey Sol,

Find by IP address... doesn't always work, guess I've got a few machines that don't seem to be creating dns entries... I'll need to check those out.

    Code:
    @echo off
set /p ipaddress=Enter IP Address to check?
    nbtstat -a %ipaddress%
    pause

here's something I've been wanting to share but keep forgetting...actually what I keep forgetting to do is take a picture of it, but this will suffice -
almost every day I pass by a home where one of these rigs and trailers is parked, and it serves as a gentle reminder to come and post
