Great reply, Mr C. I found the video blooming instructive as well.
I think you are correct of course, It is about the lather moreso than the soap and i have hit this wall where my reluctance to bloom is butting up against my inability to admit defeat with the soft brush. I suspect the soap is the issue though, not the brush, so, i am going to prove to myself which one is wrong. Reading your comments has crystallised that for me. The only proper way to get a good product load is to change the brush. I am fundamentally opposed to blooming soaps.

    Tomorrows shave should be interesting!

It is interactions like this which make this thread so valuable. Thanks to you and all!

It looks to me that we need a new thread titled Soap Wars! In reference to Clint's Wednesday reference, I never had a problem with Williams and I have hard water.

Meh, Kids crap and pee everywhere, when and how they want. Some are better at it than others but we are all different. I wouldn't make a fuss tbh and just give it time. Let him run around naked ( lucky man huh) put a few potties around the gaff, keep him away from the Persian rugs and you will be there soon enough.

    Best of luck!

Don't keep making a mistake just because you think you're locked in. This is about getting better shaves.
That's the difference between Rule & Focus. The Rule assumes there is Technique to be learned. A Focus explores variations between variables. Stick with the brush and adjust technique, or try a different brush to see if you like it more. We're still here cheering you on either way.

I rarely commit to a Rule as one setup for a month would drive me buggy knowing I have other options. A Focus might keep all but one factor the same, but that one thing that I'm changing gives me something to think about for variety.

Try a different brush and master the soap. I bet when you revisit the soap with this brush your results will be satisfactory. Don't get stuck in a rut. Your fundamental opposition to blooming a soap is a hang up that you need to ditch. Certain soaps work better that way. Give up on preconceived ideas and experiment.

Agree with everything you said Rick. However, you can't lead a horse to water, especially when it comes to BlueShaver's hesitation on blooming the soap. Lol!

Joe, I have been using a brush and soap to shave for over 37 years. For all those years, I bloomed the soaps just like my dad and grand father taught me. I still bloom most if not all soaps all the time. Fuzzy has learned to do it his way and sticks with it. I can't say I am any different. Much of that time I was forced to use Williams or whatever was available at the local store. I didn't enjoy Williams then and don't care to use it now unless I have to.

    No worries Danny. Not offended.

I'm less of a fan of the actor who played the character though he's done a couple funny movies. Not sure who told Hollywood script readers (that's what an actor is, right?) they are supposed to share their views on current events. I don't want to know because it may bias me toward their movies and characters. Neither Rosanne Barr not Barbara Streisand have made any new fans by getting political. I just want to watch the show without gritting my teeth thinking how much I disagree with them.

I will make one comment. Generally, if you are in the entertainment field, then I can assume you are affiliated with one party. Please, I don't need to hear your world views, etc. Your job is to entertain me and everyone else.

I just thought of a time when my son was going through the potty training time. I was lying on the couch in the downstairs den when I heard what I thought was water running. I turned to look for the source of "water" running and discovered that my son had went into the toy room and brought out a plastic bucket like you use at the beach. He was standing in the middle of the den, carpet floor mind you with his pants around his ankle peeing in the bucket. Keep in mind that there was a bathroom next to the den that apparently he did not feel the need to use. I did congratulate him on his aim..............all in the bucket. I laugh everytime I think about this. :happy102:

I will go against the flow on this.

I am adult enough to be able to separate fact from fiction. I can enjoy an actors performance and not his views.
There are limits though, i use to enjoy watching Jeremy Clarkson on Top-Gear until he became a violent and abusive racist thug. (google it). I can't watch him now.

I've had a great run with the NEW LC this week. This morning was another nice shave. This CF cream is slick, no question. It has been well-documented by moi previously that I love this simple, strong Lime scent as well. Quality product and thanks again @Keithmax. Everything worked as it should and I had a smooth 3 pass'er.
In all likelihood, this was my last shave of the month as I usually will shave on Sunday if I have nothing of import on Saturday. I did pull out my Adjustable for 7 shaves to stay on focus, but have definitely enjoyed rotating around some other faves and forgottens (also enjoyed not using Arko...). Definitely looking forward to SEptember and giving Single edges the spotlight. I love the last 4 focuses of the year, to be honest. From SEptember, to Open Comb October, to No Repeat November to Decadent December, they are all awesome.
    Have a great day, all!
