  1. Thanks, Jim, it will certainly pass. He's fully potty trained but absolutely refused to use the bathroom last night before bed. Just totally defiant about it. I think he's calmed down today. It's also hard because this time of year I'm at work 12 hours most days and I'm not at home to help out with the battles.

But, all will be well with time.

Edit: He got home after school (half day Pre-K) and all was normal. No issues. Hopefully it sticks. Last night was not fun.

  4. Henckel Friodurs are awesome shavers! Great to hear from you, Blair. I liked the new scales with the Friodur logo etched on it. I just realized that you might not be able to tell if the razor has the original scales based on your restored blade.
  5. Done. Best of luck, Perry.

  6. Sorry, that statement is absolute "hogwash".
  7. Are you aware of the theory of Entropy?
  8. Fantastic shave, Blair! Good luck tonight to the students and all the folks it takes to make a band successful. We are traveling for an away game but thankfully it's just a 15-20 minute ride. Local rival, so it should be fun.

Anyway, good luck to your daughter and the band!
  9. Terrific picture, Jason!

  10. I am sounding cantankerous, I know, but that's another statement that simply doesn't hold water. (pun intended)
  11. Wow! That was your Friodur that Glen posted pictures of. Beautiful, Blair. Enjoy!
  12. If nothing else, it helps use up a large shave soap inventory faster. :happy102:
  13. Gorgeous razor Blair. The restoration looks fantastic and pairs so well with that brush.

  14. I wasn't until I looked it up. I will say this and then I am bowing out of this particular conversation. By using your "entropy" logic, our shave soaps, EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY COME IN CONTACT WITH WATER would be in a constant state of degradation. Meaning, by the time you got to the end of the tub, by your theory, the soap could not possibly work anymore. That theory simply does not work. Don't bloom, it matters not a whit to me.
  15. I am a high school chemistry teacher and quite aware of it. I will give a watered down version and yes, the pun was intended. Here is an example. I have just bought a deck of 52 cards and they are in order by suit and ordinal number. They are also lined up facing the same way and not out of place. This is perfect and uniform order. When I drop the deck, the cards are in disarray and entropy has increased due to the randomness and disunity of the cards. Entropy is a linear function of randomness and disorder. Now, the world and the entire universe is constantly changing and therefore the entropy increases all the time. Conclusion: Since entropy measures the natural occurance of increasing randomness and disorder, then blooming a soap falls in line with increasing randomness and that it is normal. Don't mess with a chem teacher, my friend. Lol!

  16. Hi all!
Wow. 5,000 posts behind. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Hopefully I'll get the bill caught up quick and I can ease up on the overtime. Between that and a few things going on apart from work, my free time is in short supply. Just wanted to stop in and let you all know that I haven't completely fallen off the Earth.

I also have one bit of really good news. As of last week, I'm a grandpa!

  17. We took Asha on a trip to India just a she was potty trained. We had to bribe her with M&M candy to wear a pull up during the trip. Back to fully potty trained after the trip with no issues. Then we move to a new house. She started having issues. Out came the M&M candy and problem solved.
  18. Fantastic news.

  19. Absolutely! Can't we all use a little help to move our soaps along? ;)
