common sense is not assumed anymore. what a shame.

 

this assumes that we had common sense in the first place. I think it's just that increased communication makes it easier to see how silly we are. Nothing's changed- we're still the same people we've always been.

 

I want to agree, and for the most part I do. However, at least in the US, we, generally as a culture, are less responsible and accountable...maybe not so much that more people are that way, but that those low standards are not only tolerated, but facilitated, making things far worse, and making way the possibility for stupid crap like this, or getting sued for breaking someone's arm pulling them from an enflamed car, or a burgler injuring himself after breaking into your house, or getting set for life financially because you're clumsy and spilled coffee on yourself.....

 

It makes it hard to do the right thing sometimes... yes it does.


I got in another 1912 set today woohoo.. this is a military set in the brown plastic slid top box. Black metal handle. Guido posted a picture of one he found I will try to find it and share the love.

hehe, she might be rough to play, thankfully I'm going to have her develop pretty quickly as far as understanding that bad things have to die because they try to take away other people's lives.

she looks like Sally (the brunette) and has one blue and one green eye. Had to roll a crit to get that the only downside is she is super recognizable with that. She also has an animal companion, a little kitty who is black with blue eyes and has white paws.
oh and she has these wings

Good luck with that. This stuff is worse then when I hunted all the time. I thought that was expensive.

$13 is very low on the fountain pen price spectrum. Only thing I can think of that might be as cheap as that would be the all plastic (except for the steel nib) Pelikan Pelikano, which is actually a superb writer.

In New York, trying not to spend any money. Stopped in a pharmacy to pick up some water and ended up picking up a pack of GEM blue blades. Only a few dollars spent, but I'm going to try and swing by Pasteur Pharmacy and/or Cambridge Chemists tomorrow. That might hurt if I lose my self-control.

Matt - I haven't forgotten about you - I'll get to those straight razors pointers if I have some time tomorrow night. I'm exhausted right now, but I'm going to try to write up a little something for the Rolls PIF because I wasn't able to this morning on the plane (flight basically ended right after it started).

Is it just me or did I not see a thread congratulating Crackstar on 5K posts?

 

Have fun at the chemists' tomorrow...hopefully I'll make it up to NYC in the next year or 5....it's been a while. Don't worry Dom, I'm in no hurry, just taking it one shave at a time. Not sure if you read my SOTD post for today, but I learned that it's not necessarily my technique (althought that surely needs work) but also the razor's sharpness....I was thinking it was just my technique...I have very difficult stubble, too....very difficult :mad:

Sorry I haven't been more talkative lately.
I'm purposefully avoiding the pen talk, even though I used a Schaeffer fp back in jr. high and high school.

My hobby expenses are already more than they should be... don't tempt me into anything else.
It'd be taking away from my future straight razor fund.
