Shave #1 in the 9th month of the year 2019.
I had packed up the MT soap/AS with the intent on donating it in the next raffle, but I saw

a chap on another forum with the same product and it looked so inviting, I had to give it one more go.
    Very, very hard
soap. Triple-milled, mos def© and it's now quadruple-milled after my grating and
pressing it into this so-so, aftermarket aluminum tin. They're flimsy and too narrow.
Before my shave, I honed the Boker...:signs002: well, I did something resembling honing to the Boker.
Taped the spine and started with my Norton 8K and, using the back-and-forth Japanese technique,
proceeded through my Shapton 16K glass.

When I was finished, I checked the edge with my loupe and was VERY disappointed.
Scratchy edge. Very scratchy and no mirror shine. :prrr:
EXCEPT the front and the rear of the blade didn't look horrible.
I used two hands and tried to keep even pressure, but my guess is I used too much in the
canter, and where the pressure was less (both ends) the results were better.
I am going back to the stones after I finish this and am going to go back to the 4K and

use a slower, more systematic technique and not the Japanese.
I will report the results at a later time.
I was able to get a reasonable shave, especially when I focussed the cutting on the front and rear
    areas of the blade.
Good soap, good lather, nice scent. Fair results.
It can only get better moving forward.

Yes he is. More than me, anyway. While putting my gear away this morning I came across the Stirling gift card that @NCoxSTL generously passed out at the 30DC meet up. Yup, used it and made sure I got free shipping.
    Thanks again, Neil!

Why is 'The Blue Ming' always the target of someone's discrimination?

SEptember is on I my favorite shave theme months since I love using SE razors. To go along with the the SE razors I will be using either shave sticks or shave creams with synthetic brushes throughout the month. Out of the gate I went with my new Mike's Bay Rum shave stick and the 30 DC LE with a Tuxedo knot. @Primotenore was right about the Mike's soap. The bay rum scent is straightforward pure bay rum. The resulting lather was rich, slick and luxurious. I went to work with the Occam's OREN V2 razor. I have found that with the floating blade design, I get better shaves with a little pressure. Three passes and buffing my neck ended in a perfect drama free shave. A splash of CC Bay Rum and I am off to the grocery to pick up the sides for the pork shoulder. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

    Thanks, Perry!
I'm going random so I can use menthol on Menthol Monday and tobacco on Tuesdays.
    Thank you, Jim!
    I bet it'll be delicious!
Ribs are on the smoker. Here they are on the cutting board that's too big to fit in the dishwasher. I swear they looked smaller in the store.
    Thanks, Gary!
