    While, I have pretty much always used a brush and soap since my teenage years, I had never used a DE or SE razor. I learned or carts and just stayed with them. 5 years ago Labor Day weekend, I discovered B&B forum and ordered a Merkur 34c hd, Pro 49 brush and a tub of TOBS sandalwood cream. I actually thought I would save money over cartridge razors. :happy102:

    for me it was 35 years with carts,25 with goo and 10 with willie and wilkie(williams and wilkinson).just hit 3 years with de and everything else..:) save money..:D

    Yes, Danny.
    It's an Ever Ready Flip Top commonly known as a Shovel Head.
    I have a few of them, this is the mild one of the bunch so far.
    I found another one on top of my refrigerator today along with a GEM Junior. I've forgoten even where or when I got them. Needs a cleaning, then a test flight.
    So I'm pretty covered for the month.

    I think it just about did me in.

    4 outa 5 doctors don't recommend it.
    The Surgeon General warns againt it.
    The state of California says it might be a carcinogen.

    Satsuma is an excellent orange scent. Piacenza is my favorite Stirling scent as well as their Bay Rum.

    Today I pulled out the Ever-Ready 1914 with a handle I made myself since it didnt have on when I received it.
    For the brush it was the JR29 badger since it matched the razor handle . Nice menthol Proraso for the soap and balm to finish. Hope everyone had a great day today!

    That's a great razor Perry.
    One of those razors that's seems so mild, then cuts so close. Razorock out did themselves when they produced that razor.
