I spend a lot of tim eon the military and history channel. Throw in some dirty jobs ans dangerous catch and that makes a night.

 

They still show Good Eats? I thought it was just one challenge series after another with some cakes thrown in. Yup, TLC tanks now... Don't care for much of what is on SciFi anymore... Never understood why wrestling was on there. Comedy Central died for me in mid 90s. Occasionally will watch Daily Show, but just don't bother to make the point to try...

 

I used to watch more Mythbusters with that mix, but I guess I grew tired of that as well..


At the moment...I could use a new season of Firefly, Junkyard Wars, or Battlebots (and not the weird British one)

 

Yea jumkyard wars is good most the time.

 

I could do with a few more episodes of Tank Overhaul

There never seems to be much new content on the Millitary Channel. I can only watch a week of the same Hitler's Bodyguard reruns, that curly red headed freak telling me why the M1A1 is the best tank ever, or other top 10 whatevers for so long before it's old. I now wait a few months then tune in for about a week to catch up.

Good Eats is still on, but it's turned from informative teaching to obnoxious preaching.

Mythbusters died for me when it became the all Kari, all the time show. She's cute, sure, but I can only take her in small doses. Her fake enthusiasm and camera whore nature has totally killed the show for me.

 

Yup.. that is a good one. And I agree that they rerun way to much on there.

I haven't noticed the preachiness. What I do know is those molassess & coffee marinated pork chops from a couple weeks ago kick major ass.

 

Boy, with my over-the-air-only antenna, I feel like quite the pariah.

Although, the new digital conversion has greatly increased the number of crappy channels I get! We have one channel (this-tv) that shows old movies. They get more obscure movies starring people before they were big, or stars during the decline of their careers. Makes for very interesting television. Watched part of Dr. Phibes the other day, gotta love Vincent Price. I just wish our local broadcasters would get their act together and broadcast at full strength all the time... it cuts in and out periodically throughout the week.

And to you House fans, which disappointed you more, the way Kutner left, or the reason Kal Penn gave for leaving?

I tell everybody that my new favorite channel on the tv isn't N-B-C or C-B-S, but O-F-F.

I guess that's why I have an 800+ dvd collection. :ashamed001

 

What was the reason Kal Penn gave for leaving? I hadn't heard. I thought the story was kind of a shock and seemed completely out of character, but I'm kinda glad they didn't give some sappy ass hidden story that wouldn't be in line with the show and kind of left it as a "here it is, take it" kinda thing.

And I thought 13 would be the next to leave. Her character's been drawn out into a one dimensional dullard. I hope the next few episodes are of her at the buffet putting on weight. She's borderline scary thin.

what's up everyone? Good shave with that 1906 Single Ring this am....being more aware of the Old's aggressiveness, I was able to finesse a fine shave out of it....I also noticed it's very easy to get off the proper angle without really feeling it right away...it seems with most other razors that once I find the proper angle, I can keep it... I wonder if that's what contributed to my not liking the shave with the ball end handled Old I tried a while back - that and not knowing about the blade shifting, I probably had the blade crooked...

We're there with you, except we don't even do the antenna route. We watch everything on dvd through Netflix. Makes it easier to censor my 2 y/o's t.v. content.

 

Glad you liked the shave from that one. They are a ton of fun to use.

 

Yeah, it was really cool thinking that I was shaving with a 103 year old razor this morning... it makes me want to find one with a Bulldog handle even more....I was afraid I wasn't going to like it....


Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll have my Joseph Rodgers straights honed up and ready to shave....I'm estimating them to be about 120 years old....

just think about that for a minute.......one hundred twenty years old....

The oldest Ihave shaved with is a 1900 model. That I traded to someone that wanted it more. My oldest now is a 1909 SR that I got in that trade.
