Fuzzy, maybe you can answer this for me.
Are SE's in general 'lather catchers' or is that a term for a specific style?

The Lather carchers are the older ones. the head looks different. the ones before the 1912. They shave better in my opinion. But let me tell you those that Coyote have are some GREAT shaving razors.

    Oh, I don't doubt that.
I really have been trying to avoid AD's, but those SE's are better priced than most on eBay and I know I can trust people here to be honest about the condition.

Maybe if I wait a couple of hours, Corey will buy them and save me from my Iwantses.

Not exactly, oh Fuzzy one. Horseback riding is actually excellent for thighs, legs, etc.

    That's not Klaatu, is it?

I don't, but have a couple friends that do. One friend in Spokane is turning kit-less pens now and they're very cool. He's thinking about doing some brush handles as well.

I'm trying my best to take one of them out of the running! :D

    Same with motorcycle riding.
No cardio, but your legs do get some exercise.
Actually, if we are talking dirtbikes, don't let anyone fool you into believing it isn't a LOT of exercise.
I tried dirtbike riding for a while in my adulthood and quickly found that I was in no shape to be doing that.

    Yeah yeah.
I went ahead and PMed him about one of the Gems and one of the ER's.

I like my 1912 ER, but I need to investigate my blade options.
I don't get enough shaves out of those Gem Blue Stars.

Not this time. This past week I've spent waaaaaaaay too much on razors. Picked up a Merkur Vision 2000, a Satin Black Goodfella, a little Merkur mustache trimmer (6 bucks, couldn't resist), and a birth year Tech. I did eye the NEW and the Old Types, but I have two Old Types already (shaved with one tonight actually). It was tough not to purchase, but a quick look at my paypal transactions this week quickly kill off the desire to spend more.

    Whooooa... you bought a Goodfella?
I would love to try one of those, but a $50 razor is not in my budget right now.
Same reason I haven't bought an Old type yet.

I bought it on here actually, a little less than $50. I can't wait to get it to give it a shot. Hopefully it shows up in the mail tomorrow or Friday. It looks like a beautiful razor in pictures.

I am using aldwardo, but I haven't posted yet. I am realizing now that using a unique real name was not a good idea.
    That'd be sweeet! :)
Wow, that is cool. There are so many awesome things some pen turners are doing. I can't even imagine how you would do that right now. Definitely a lot to learn in that hobby. Great, just what I needed, another hobby. ;)

Well, even though nobody asked, here is a picture. Basic slimline ball point in rosewood, already in my wife's purse.

    so, how 'bout a pic?

yeah, this wood-turning bug has really bitten me hard...I've got plans on some pens, salt and pepper grinders, darts, brushes,....but, as I told my wife the other day, I've finally found a hobby, and I'm loving it.
