    Nice post.

I'm really not sure how long you have been 'wetshaving', but it is my guess you are not an overt newbie.

Having observed your progression and joined in some of the jocularity, I think I can say you're finding the right answers for 'you'. Many times we are all to quick to assume what we like, others must like.

The key issue at hand in the process we are trying to conquer is getting enough soap and water involved. Without which, results in more discomfort. Exactly how you do that is not a concern.

    Be well!

Saturday Stirling Sandpiper Shaving Soap Single edge Shavette September

    One of my favorite shaves

Typical Super Stirling lather from a just wonderful piece of badger.

The Focus R21 Evolution with a teflon coated blade is my best shaver. If I didn't love my straights so much, I would be tempted to purge them. Funny that the lead of the window scrapers brigade considers this to be a sissy razor because it has blade corner guards like most original safety razors. It is still a top shaver that one needs to learn to use without getting cut. Now, if only I had the dexterity for those sideways stokes.

Finished up with the Stirling Sandpiper AS. I forgot what popular men's fragrance this is a dupe of, but it definitely ranks high on the Max Headroom List of Most Glorious Stanks.

    Have a great day.

A good portion was earlier in the day. We're still getting daytime highs in the mid 90's but Dorian has disrupted the every day rain cycle. Humidity makes it miserable from 3PM until almost 10PM.
Thanks Jon (or is it John?). Days like that make for uninterrupted sleep. Pillow meets face and suddenly it's the next day. I do enjoy sleeping cool during summer - had a waterbed since 1979. The mattress stays at a cool ambient temp, lower than body temp, so it draws the days heat away.
Positive attitude! Glad you are open to experimentation. Cool water, evening shave with no "gotta hurry before work" time, and sounds like the bowl helped with lather quantity and quality.
Thanks Clint! I'll be off to visit Mom shortly. Dad offered to pick me up on his way there. I declined. Don't want to be at the whims of my ride.

I have been wet shaving for two years and i have my favourite soaps (Yardley), favourite razor (YUMA), favourite brush (Yaqi synth) and preferred technique ( 3 pass- wrg-xtg-atg and face lathering).

The stuff i am using in this 30DC is all top off the line which i hadn't really connected with. The reason for this 30DC was to focus on technique rather than gear but this seems to have been turned upside down as i struggle to get to grips with stuff outside of my comfort zone.

As in life, sometimes the most important lessons are the ones you didn't't look for!

+1! Same great Stirling lather and a very nice Old Spice scent.
Will do Terry! Sharing the trial and tribulations of our daily lives helps smooth things out. I see other's struggles and know that my life is fairly simple. Enough of us with parents getting on in years or little ones under foot. I've got both and cherish the frenetic moments because later I just might get bored during a quiet moment.

Tada! I caught up with the thread. So it's time to get out, move around, and let y'all pile up more content for the too hot to be outside afternoon.
Thanks Gary! I decided to leave the grandkids here with daughter, go see mom on the third floor. Not going to eat at the hospital cafeteria.
Probably. One study says positive, and shortly there after another warns of ill effects or bogus claims by the first study. I think it's been this way since there were that first two witch doctors.

Best thing is to exercise and eat healthy. Avoid stress and obnoxious people. Be with family and friends who love and support you. Yes, I read an article stating that cardiac patients don't need to take aspirin.

Awesome shave with some basic gear. When you shave with an IH razor you dare not use artisan fluff.....you use the the boar and the Williams. The Gillette OT did an excellent job and I have had problems with these razors in the past but now it is just a good shaving razor. The old Omega boar was soaked and then I loaded the Williams like I stole it. Awesome thick lather. The alum was quiet and a good splash of Clubman brought it home. Out the door to take mom to see dad. Wife and granddaughter in tow. Y'all have a great day.
