    Sunday September 8th shave

The Fuller brush from my August haul has been reknotted with a mixed badger/boar knot from shave forge. First use and it performed well...now to get it broke in.[IMG]

No stand...picked it up in an antique store about a week ago when on a road trip to Fargo, ND. Here is a pick of the haul...with a close up of some advertising on the head of one of the old type heads.[IMG][IMG]

    I2v3, Schick Proline B-20, shave 4.
    i2v3a.jpg i2v3b.jpg

This variant is the only one known to have been produced with a silver colored head and has a longer lever than earlier versions but is different from the gold colored head I2v4 in that it doesn't have any writing on the lever unlike the I2v4.

This razor correlates to another razor shave wise just not the one I was expecting. This razor is more aggressive than the I1v1 and I1v2 and on par with the I2v4 but it differs big time in efficiency. The I2v4 is a lot more efficient and sharp of a cut while this one is more audible and has more tug on the hair when it cuts. On each pass I pulled out the razors and compared how they cut at the same angle and the razor that matches this one happens to be the I1v2 stamped Schick Safety Razor and though not tested yet but should be the same based on everything else the J1v2 which is also stamped Schick Safety Razor. End result is the same closeness of shave as the I1v2 for me.

The question here on the gold color head hydro magics is when did they change the way the heads shave did they change them on the earlier models or later model I2v4? I know @Bird Lives had commented that his silver colored head I2v3 was more aggressive than his other gold colored head I2. Depending which variant he was referring to would most likely answer when they changed the shave geometry on the gold colored head I2 hydro magics. My guess based upon the order in which these razors were produced that it would have been changed on the I2v4 with the longer lever.

My silver I2 has the larger longer Hydro-magic lever...and the lever also has the writting etched on it.

Does that make it a silver I2-v4 ?

Depends if it is the same shaver as the I2v3. If you are interested I'll let you borrow my I2v3 silver colored I2 if you let me borrow yours. You can borrow mine first if you want then send both to me when you are done.

Did a repeat Shave with the Occams as I wanted a no fuss quality Shave, and this is becoming the Razor for this. I had my doubts about the blade, but it works really well in the Occams on Plate3 and is the blade recommended by the Supplier/ Designer. I can get consistently good Shaves with it and have had no problems during or post Shave. Just a pleasure to use as it is so manoeuvreable providing a variety of ways of holding it. This is the best lightweight
AC/SE Razor that I have used.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Ingram Shave Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 Brush. I did two passes with Dad's Schick E3 razor with a Personna Injector Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Squat head vs Squat head. Ok I guess maybe my memory was off, the curved top did seem more bladey -- and a bit more tuggy ATG on my head -- than the flat top. [IMG]
