Yep, know just how you fee, Justin. I've done that most of my life, although I've cut back on it for the last year or so. I've always been a night owl...

Well, with all these new razors, I doubt he has any spare heads in stock :happy102

Good morning everyone! I didn't think I was going to wake up this morning as I snored away in the shower... but it looks like momentum is finally on my side.

Up until now all my shaves with the Truefitt and Hill soap have been meh. However, things just jelled today. I always felt that it wasn't lubricating enough; however, when using the Shave King it was a wonderful shave. I got one of the best performances out of the soap and the razor that I have seen.

If you ever get the chance to get a Shave King, do it. They are great open comb razors. They are so open comb, that even the cap is open comb! However, they are on the mild end of the open comb spectrum. ( the teeth on the cap retain water so that you get a better lubricated shave)

Yeah yeah... I swear you will all have me trying a straight before long. I am willing to try. I am not scared of the blade, its the maintenance that gets me...

You would have to ask, but last I knew he had a surplus of old style heads. He keeps telling me that he only sells the heads to help sell the razor handles; however these new models are selling themselves.

Do you have pics of the Shave King? Sounds interesting. Where would you find one?

I found mine on a dusty shelf in an antique store. They come up every now and then on eBay.

Here is the patent information. http://www.google.com/patents?id=3x...612&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=0_1#PPA1,M1

According to the patent, it is supposed to store water and release as you shave. Surprisingly, it does appear to do this.

At first glance, I thought this razor had a very large blade gap and would tear my flesh off of my face. However, on close examination, the blade isn't exposed that much. Between the water retention and the low blade exposure, this is actually a mild razor for an open comb and has become my choice for shaves when my face already has other issues (such as irritation from an overly aggressive shave or sensitivity due to a skin reaction to something).

That thing is awesome! Just did a quick search on eBay and found none. That's definitely one I'll have to look out for, unless you'd consider selling it. :D

That is a really cool shaving head on that Shave King.

Well, I'm in no real hurry. Then again, if I wait too long and he stops making them, I'd feel foolish.

So will you be getting that before or after the Stahly Live Blade, Corey?

I don't have much of an interest in the Stahly razors. I've had a few on my watch list, but I've never felt any compulsion to bid on one. If the price was right, I'd probably pick on up, but if I never get one, I won't be too upset.

Well I guess that is true. With so many of us catching BRWAD I think we will keep him in business for a while. Its odd, I won't pay the $50+ for a new Goodfella; however, I will plop 40 down just for a handle. Bull Mastiff here I come...

What an odd co-inky-dink... I just got one of those yesterday. Will probably fire it up some time next week. RR has the weekend!

Mornin's gang! Time to break out the mower for the first time this season. It's not a *big* yard, but I still need to take it slow after landing in the hospital in August. So it ends up taking 2-3 days to get the entire thing done. :prrr

I swear it wasn't me, but I did just have one show up yesterday. The auction closed a week ago though.

I'm strongly considering it... but then I look at my truck which needs inspection & maintenance, my computer which is long overdue for a rebuild, my dwindling ammo supply, and about half a dozen other things I want or need to throw money at...
That's the insidious thing about AD's... they seductively whisper "It's just $5 here and $14 there... oh, and you won't mind another $40... it's a custom!"
Next thing you know, ye olde checking account is below the comfort zone... and just then something blows up and costs you an unexpected $500.
No no no... gotta stay focused.
My SWMBO is my own (albeit wishy washy) sense of financial responsibility.
Fortunately it's backed up by my memories of a few too many run-ins with Murphy's Law.

Guys, I have news of epic proportions! I mean this is potentially huge news. I'm not sure if it's safe to mention it, it's so big. This could potentially cause your collective heads to asplode, Scanners-style.

    Big.

    News.

Check the spoiler at your own risk.

    big news (open)
    I think I found Distractiongirl's secret hideout!

Hey- it could be worse. I've got "Get Free" by the Vines kicking around in my head...

    +10000!

The cool thing about 3 pieces is that they're so customizable. Once you've found the head you like, you can get a custom handle with just the right weight. At least, that's the bill of goods my RAD's trying to sell me.

Okay, I read the spoiler. Who? The name means nothing to me.

I think it's some inside joke, something they carried over from another site....

What's up peeps? Just picked up a lather catcher and German made travel razor from a guy on Cragislist....

the worst part about it, I really don't have any desire to try the travel razor at all....but I couldn't not buy it.....:(

    this stuff's got to stop.
