I usually keep these soaps medium wet with straights and less so with safeties. Now, I see I can go slightly more wetter with safeties. Now, this may not be true for different brands of soaps, but Stirling doesn't lose it slickness with above average hydration.

Yes, you do need a sharp straight razor so that you can shave with that light touch. I know you know this, but it is good to state it for newbies.

A lucky guess, frankly, but it was the only thing that made sense. :)

Agreed Patrick. I've purchased only one bottle of P&G Old Spice, maybe 5 or 6 vintage Shulton. If I hadn't compared I might have been happy with the current production. Still haven't found an old puck of the shave soap. For those that enjoy Stirling soaps, their Spice is close enough in scent and gives good lather. Got a tube of Made in India Musk OS shave cream I'll be trying soon as my current fascination with the Frankensoap fades.

Neal @NCoxSTL may recognize the music in the first half of this one minute video.

    Wonderful shave, Joe!

I've been using the Marco Method for lathering Stirling the past few days. I really like it so far. I also supergoop with Stirling with terrific success.

    Great shave Joe.
That's one thing about Stirling, even if you're not a fan of a particular scent, you still get a good lather.
