Nice score!!! The one on the left looks like a Fat Handled Tech....IMO. Maybe a NDC (No Date Code)? The SA looks like a short handle, there is also a long handled one.

Something to think about.... you can always pick up those other razors, clean them up, then offer them up here. Those were reasonable prices, and if you tack on shipping to the price it won't put them out of their price range. That way they'll at least get into user's hands.... "rescue" is what it's called, I believe - Because you rescue them from the antique store... :happy102 :happy102

 

Thanks Matt! NDC and Fat Handle - yes to both. I think you're right about the SA as well. I've seen a side by side picture (somewhere around here) of them and I think this is the shorter version.

I almost did rescue several of the others today while I was there, but, um, my wife was with me :ashamed001 and I didn't want her to think I was completely over the edge :happy102 (although it's too late for that, I'm afraid - she's tolerated and supported my pen habits for a very long time now).

I'll go back in a couple of weeks and grab some more.

I just counted and I have 36 SE razors with 3 more on the way. Several are the same razor but in different case. That does not count the DE stuff I have, and the Durham Duplex, 2 Soligen straights and Dovo Shavette. I also have a NOS PAL injector on the way from Scottydoint.

Well done there Tom I have one of those short handle SA that I shaved with for a long long time. Good stuff if you like the Adjustables. I always just left it on 5 myself.

You know, I was going to make a joke about that being a euphamism, too, but I don't know Tom that well... :happy102 :happy102

 

I left a couple behind myself today. A blue tip for $5, and a 3-piece open comb of unknown make for $6.95. That second one I looked at, and looked at, and looked some more. I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. It was kinda nasty looking. Almost looked like rust on top of the head.

 

yeah, I did notice a considerable lack of explanation on the poker chip soup...
and the shopping joke...

 

No it wasn't a euphemism, the poker chip thing was a half-baked idea. Literally half-baked because unless I want to waste some oil, I can't heat the chips above 212... I was discussing heating a poker chip until it was soft and malleable and pressing it into the curvature of the inside of an AH bowl. The chip could then be placed between a soap and the glass of the AH glass and could be used for identification.

I was over thinking a problem that didn't really exist. Its just something I do.... Why a poker chip? Because I was playing with one sitting on my desk when I was thinking about it.... duh....

Too many for me....I'm a user , not a full on collector....I can only really see the need for 10 or so before getting duplicates...or close enough they may as well be duplicates...

not including straights in that....they're a whole other ball game


EDIT: also, if I don't like how it shaves, I'll get rid of it...no need to keep it around....
