That's the thing, for Trophy Rockfish, I may not get to go again this season... while I was typing this I go the official word... luckily he does have 1 last day open that coincides with our shift being off!
I am soon off to bed.. 0400 comes early can not wait to break out my OC1912.. going to use my favorite TOBS rose I think....and probably some Pinaud Special reserve to finish up. WOOHOO!!
Striped Bass. They come in from the ocean up the Chesapeake Bay and into the rivers to spawn. On their way back out, that's when Trophy season starts. Fish in the range of 35" and bigger. The one I caught last year was 36" and heavy! My first time out, too. I have a pic, maybe I'll try to post it up tomorrow.... Thanks. :happy088
Yeah, it's a great time. They're a great fighting fish, and really good eating, too! One filet is large enough to feed 3 people easily, if not 4. At the thickest, it's about 2" - 3" thick (the filet that is). Y'all are gonna make me go scan in that pic now, aren't ya? lol
Sounds like they must be a lot smarter than salmon... they can find their way back out to sea. Well, except that getting caught thing. :happy102 Evening guys.
Yes we are! I'm waiting patiently for opening of Trout season. One of these days I'm going to have to take up fly tying, but for now, fly buying works
As a Wisconsin resident and being into fishing... I wonder if you ever tried smelting? I remember being a kid and the whole family would get together when the smelt was running they would spend all night catching and cleaning smelt. I got so sick of smelt. Now as an adult, that is one of the treats of going back up to Door County.... finding a restaurant with all you can eat smelt.... Actually, the sell smelt in a local grocery store. However, I don't miss them enough to make them. On the other hand... I still don't want anything to do with lutefisk. :sick007
Morning guys. Forgot to set my alarm last night but still woke up on time. Got to love a routine huh. How's the Y'all today?
