Sept 13th Proraso PS Red PAA Doppelgänger Black Label SS Zenith Boar J3Customs 8/8 Kamisori PAA Doppelgänger Black Label AS 3 Pass DFS+. Nice slow shave this morning. No nicks, cuts, weepers, shenanigans at all from this J3Customs bad boy. This monster saw a little linen and strop time, then was a very smooth shaver for all three passes. This is one blade I've not honed. It is straight from Derek at J3Customs, all I've done is strop it very lightly. Quite the hefty blade, it holds it's edge well. PAA CK6 shave soap formula and a Zenith boar. Yogurty slick bliss as expected, requiring only about a minute to load the brush, then whip into enough for 3+ passes. Followed with the matching PAA AS (it's a homage aroma to Sauvage). Feeling slick and smelling fine, ready for a very busy day! Yet again, behind over 450+ posts....a big working weekend is only going to make it worse. Reading along...as time allows. Always great posts and images. 9/13/19 RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush Timeless Shaving Bowl Fine – Snake Bite Electric Safety Razor with Gillette Pre-War Tech Head Astra SP Blade Soap Commander Aftershave Splash – Honor Yeah…I know an electric razor but it has a Gillette head! What is not to love about the Gillette Pre-War Tech? How else could it ever be improved upon? Someone had the idea to add a vibratory electric motor to one. What could go wrong? An electric non-grounded shaving device used around water. Sounds like MAYhem for sure! When I got this little animal, I replaced the cracked and fraying cord for obvious reasons. I also did not fill the sink with water. I just left a small stream of water running to rinse the head. So how does it shave? I have to admit it was one of my better shaves. The vibratory action does make a difference and I will definitely shave with it again. It will not make a daily driver. The handle is large and heavy plus you have the cord to deal with but I will keep it in the rotation, it was that nice of a shave. The Fine Snake Bite whipped up some glorious lather and it all came together with the mentholated Soap Commander aftershave splash. Y'all take care and have a great day. I smell the weekend!
September 13, 2019 OneBlade Genesis V2 Feather FHS Thater Olive Wood Synthetic Savonniere du Moulin Shave Stick Dominica Grand Bay Rum Aftershave Our plans to go to Lexington and visit Maya this weekend changed. She has a really tough schedule this semester including organic chemistry 1. She has an exam on Tuesday in chemistry and feels that she need the extra time this weekend to study. So we will go up another weekend when it works out better for her. Taking my inspiration from @Boojum1 , I changed up my plans and went with the OneBlade this morning. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. I absolutely love this razor. With no skill or technique required, I can consistently get a perfect shave. A splash of witch hazel with menthol followed by Dominica Grand Bay Rum aftershave and I am off to the office. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
