Sleepy. I just can't wake up and keep falling back asleep. At least I didn't fall asleep while shaving. I hate falling asleep in the shower though...

Just got to work and got my morning coffee... so hopefully I will wake up fully soon.

    map my walk

OK, I got myself back to high school shape; however during the school year I have slid back into bad college years shape. I need to get back on track. I know that Dom rides a bike and Fuzzy is a walker...

Its time to get back at it...

Last year one of the sites that I used to track my activity was mapmywalk.com (also mapmyride.com, mapmyrun.com) They allow you to set up a group and have group challenges.

Anyone interested in setting up a group and setting a group goal such as lose X pounds, or walk X miles together? Maybe see how long it takes for us as a group to walk/bike across the US?

I'm in. I was up to almost 5 miles a day at one time. now get about 2.5 to 3. A little motivation goes a long way.

    Morning everyone!

I haven't had a chance to post much lately. I have actually had to work the last couple of weeks and it appears it will last for a little while longer. I know, I know, I need to get my priorities in line.

We are having some great weather right now so I plan on taking advantage of the 70 degree weather.

Anyone here want to buy a futur before I put in the classifieds. I bought a used one a couple of weeks ago and tried it once. Not a bad shave but if feels like you are shaving with a spaceship. Too big and weird for me.

    Morning all.

Just got home from a crappy night at work. Need to shave shower and then head out on a computer call.

Tracy, I would love to buy your Futur... Unfortunately I can't right now. I'm still down about 50% of my normal pay at work.

Morning everyone. Just getting up myself, slept in since the trip was canceled. My parents left some stuff over our house last night, and my mom's going up to Harrisburg antiquing today. What a coincidence, now I guess I just have to bring it up there to her. :D They actually live about 1½ hours away down in MD, so this works out better! :D

    breakfast, shower, shave....see y'all later!

    HAND!!!

    Mornin's yinzers.

Off to do errands downtown before the next wave of rain hits. They've backed off since, but last week the forecast for today was "tons of rain". :prrr

I didn't watch, but I heard about it when I went to bed - SWMBO was reading about it on her laptop. Sounds like one big party (not).

Mornin' everyone. Just about off to work here, but thought I'd drop in and say hey...

Nope. Ended up watching Indiana Jones pt. 4. Started well but ended so, so badly. Felt like a cheap imitation of the series. George Lucas should be banned from the movie industry. He single handedly ruined star wars and now his taint has spread to another of my favorite series...

I have been thinking we need to start a fitness group, kinda as an accountability/encouragement area for those of us wanting to get healthier...any others?
yeup......Miss USA was much better than those :D

Any carpenters on board? (no pun intended)

I have some windows in my home that have the bottom board of the top sash rotting beyond repair. What I want to do is build new top sashes rather than trying to replace the windows with complete new windows. (I have something like 28 exterior windows and they're all different widths, and tall) I feel reasonably comfortable with the idea of building a replacement sash for my window. The house was built in '43 and todays modern windows just wouldn't look "right." Know what I mean?

Anyway, I've been looking at the design of the stationary top sash, and I notice that it's constructed using a mortise and tenon method. My question is, since this thing won't be moving (I plan to caulk the window closed) would a dowel pin joint be sufficient? It would sure speed up construction, not to mention reduce the difficulty quotient. I figure since it's not holding a massive load (Just 3 small panes of glass/ probably one, I might fake the sash bars) and it won't be moving, the dowels should hold it well, right?

Or should I just bite the bullet and go all out with mortise and tenon work?

speaking of Dr. Jones, I just started IJ 3 in the auditorium. We're having a kinda Science and Math fair day here at the high school, part of the rotation has the students not at one of the other centers watching a movie in the auditorium

Argh.... sure you mention this after my PayPal has dwindled down. I wouldn't mind giving it a spin but I shouldn't be spending more than what is in that balance.

Nope... after the 3AM performance yesterday morning, wife and I went to sleep early. Didn't even know that was on.

Yeah... no kidding. That is one of the reasons that I haven't bothered watching it yet or Clone Wars.

Not sure what IJ3 really has to do with science/math other than vague references to archaeology and problem solving. But who am I kidding, we will be showing a video next week after our 3rd round of state testing this school year (yup... three schools weeks wasted on testing this year!)
