Thank you, Andrew! It just proves that you can get a great shave without spending beaucoup dollars on a razor. This razor is about $15. Like I said, it is my least favorite razor because I had bought one and it lasted just 2 years. The soap gums up the locking mechanism so that you can't twist open the doors. You have to heat in hot water/boiling water to melt the soap to unlock the razor. Frankly, it is a pain.

Thanks, Jim! It is a great scent, but I am surprised it is not his best seller!

    Great work Jon.
I always use a new blade.
I get consistent shaves that way.

Thank you for the kind words, Danny! I keep the VDH for sentimental reasons. It was the first razor that brought me back to wetshaving. Years ago, I was walking through Target and I was looking for some shaving cream and saw the VDH old fashioned TTO razor and I was like intrigued because I first started shaving with a safety. I remembered that I used to get close shaves without trying. So, I bought it with the blades and the rest was history. I wouldn't even think that it would lead me into straightshaving, TSD and getting to know you guys. Life sure has twists and turns that make it interesting.

Jason, I would agree, but I won't PIF/sell it. Read post 4344 and you will understand why.

I'm so easily enabled. I even tried to talk myself out of it. I've been face lathering all summer only using my bowl for samples and scuttle season is coming. No need for another bowl. I ordered one anyway.[IMG]

Nice choice Jim. I too have been very unsuccessful at talking myself out of buying quite a few items. At least you can say you tried.;)
