Neal, I'm praying that the docs are able to help you. Put on some headphones, listen to some good music, and maybe catch some zzz's while you're having the MRI.

    Hang in there, my friend.

A sharp blade is a must although i can prefer the second shave on a blade sometimes.

No idea what the knights of the well worn blade are shaving with their 30+ shaves on on blade! :shocked029:

Turns out I don't have to be patient. I got an email from Symmetrical Pottery. They have a bowl ready to go. It will ship Monday. I originally ordered the black base but this one is just too beautiful to say no.[IMG]

Saturday morning and no rush out the door today.

I soaked the brush today (because why?) And then flicked it almost dry. I then did my now normal trick of circles/water drips/no brush mashing and got a real good loading resulting in loads of lather. Buckets of the stuff. Lathertastic.

3 pass shave. Reverted to my normal down/across/up passes because doing otherwise didn't seem to have much affect. I noted my beard grain is actually more nose-ear so my XTG pass was ear-nose to get the pass as close as possible.

The blade is good on the 2nd run.

I notice myself really backing off on the brush work, both on my face and on the puck. I am perhaps guilty of stressing brushes too much. This hurts the brush and my face! Just use the tips on the pucks and use some side-side stokes on the face (which oddly enough seems better at lathering???)

A nice shave. Almost BBS. Very consistant. Perhaps as good as i can get.

I have a slight rash (again) though. I am wondering if i am sensitive to this soap?

Oh, finished with Channel Allure A/S for a super nice ending :)

Very nice! I love mine. When I first started making lathers (without it), it was hit or miss for me. Once the bowl came in, it really helped adding volume. Those little nibs, along with a ‘beat it like it’s 60 days late’ mindset, makes many of the soaps and creams we see used everyday here in the 30DC really shine!

    Good morning!

Great shave to start the day but I had to work for it. The blade is done. Extra buffing to get my face smooth resulted in some hot spots from the alum. I should have swapped out the blade.

    Have a great day!

It was not a particularly good shave this morning, sort of like Dresden after the fire bombing. I do not plan on using the GEM anymore. Incredible fiery neck burn!

    RAZOR: 1912 Model Brass Gem
    BLADE: Pella PTFE GEM blade
    PRE-SHAVE: Cold rinse w/ L’Occitane Glycerine soap
    CREAM: Palmolive
    POST-SHAVE: Thayer’s Witch Hazel w/ Lavender
