  1. silly question.would the original brass cartridge /key that came with the razor be refillable?

  2. Yes, keep the blade towards the key of the magazine so the edge doesn't get dulled.

  9. I agree its technique that matters - The Original Micromatic has a rather undeserved reputation, once you get the hang of it it quite smooth and comfortable to use. Think long and hard before you criticise a Razor - It could be you;)

    Cold Water Rinse
    De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #206
    Henckels Rapide
    Gem CS SE
    CWR
    Cella After Shave Balm

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 Brush. I did two passes with the Henckels Rapide razor with a Gem CS SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Cella After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Reshave with this razor. Best shave yet, glass like BBS shave though this razor is nowhere as near as efficient as the movable spring E2. I think either I screwed up the blades edges when I transferred blades into this razor or the other blades are just not as good. In the case of the Proline B-20 blades as RonR pointed out they don't sit flush on the blade stops because they are slightly shorter than the chicks and personna blades so that could be a factor depending how the razor is designed for exposure and such. Either way lesson here is I am not switching out blades any longer and just need to keep better track of how many shaves on each blade in each razor from here on in.
