whats up guys? being really lazy but what is pen turning? I have the addiction and am just starting the collection so could be a buyer
Basically I am buying pen kits, and turning barrels for them in wood. You can do other materials too, but I am just getting started. Here is my first one, I will be posting some more pictures in the next couple weeks. Let me know if you are looking for anything in particular, otherwise I might post a couple things soon.
awe so from the pic...you buy the medal stuff and then you made the wood that the metal parts fit into? I need to make a list and then prioritize... I think i may like a longer handled razor???? what razors would fall into that category? I hear ya brave fish. i have been surfing all day.
I know...I am ashamed....but in my defense, I am doing inventory this week yeah, that wood is just so dense. I haven't had a lot of time for turning lately, it's kinda hit and miss for me. Haven't tried pens yet, though I intend to at some point
I forgot to mention I reknotted an old Rubberset brush with a 22mm Finest badger knot, decided to go with it instead of silvertip, save a few $$$ and try another grade, fully expected it to be scrubbier than the silvertips....uhhh, nope - man, that thing is super soft! works great, was just surprised, I think it's softer than my silvertips, though I'll really need to do a side by side comparison to verify

I KNEW that was coming looks like a 1910 model. The one that Dave sent me is just like that same pat dates and all. He told me 1910. You will LOVE that thing I imagine. As I recall it came with the case and all. that is awesome.
Still cold and rainy out, no yard work done today. Did get semi caught up on CPU repairs and razor cleaning.
I didn't get much of anything done today. Crappy weather, but not gonna complain, as we needed the moisture.
