thank you sir..having to downgrade the image quality on the phone camera to use the filters in the photo editing or they are too large to load here..no change in the resulting image as the editor is doing the work..i think..
I love the Gillette RedTip razors and I shave with one 2-3 times a week. In fact, I shaved with one this morning. I started bidding on '50's Gillette razors on Ebay anytime the bidding was still $5-$8. Sometimes they slip through the cracks and I actually win. When that happens, most of the time they just need a good clean and polish. Sometimes they need replating. I've only had one that wasn't salvageable. From left to right: 1) The one on the left is my current project. It needs end caps and replating. 2) I cleaned, polished, and replated. 3) The 3rd just needed cleaning, otherwise it's still just as it came. 4) The 4th was replated by a third party. 5) The RedTip in the case is also in near mint condition, but did cost more with the case. This morning, I shaved with #4, RazoRock Barber #24, Mickey Lee Soapworks Jefferson Square Soap and AS.
Tonight, I used a 59 Fat Boy on setting 9 with a Vidyut SS blade (2) with TOBS St. James Collection and a Burma Shave brush. Finished with Dollar Store witch hazel with a few drops of tea tree oil then Brut. I gotta say, this is the first time I tried an adjustable on 9, rode the cap all the way threw this shave and dang, I may not have to shave till next Sunday because this one was so close. I've started out on like 5 and rode the cap part way for a shave and just didn't finish doing so. On 9, I was paying more attention so I remembered to do it all the way threw my shave. Again, WOW. Thanks Bama Samurai for that post in Shave School on cranking it to 9 and riding the cap.
