Yeah.. just keep buttering me up with talk about long bladed wedge style SE w/ a folding side protruding handle... I will end up getting one this summer, I just know it... Yes, used the OC MM this morning. I got a better shave with it than I did the 1912 and 1924 the last two mornings. However, I switched to a different box of blades. The blades I was using earlier in the week were dragging too much. I wonder if that entire box of blades started oxidizing. I don't recall the Gem Blue Stars being so rough and dull. But then again, the last several Gem shaves were with a Pella so anything now is dull in comparison. The Gem blade I put in today was MUCH better, but still not Pella good. I wish I could get good blades local. These CVS gems aren't bad and will do for now.
Good to hear the M/M worked well for you Justin. I've got a bullet tip which I have never used myself. It was just included in a lot buy, and is really kind of an ugly duckling. Plan on using it for the last day of S/E week.
I plan on using my bullet tip MM on Friday. I will be using Rolls Razor on the weekend. Yes, it is a wedge blade so it is like a straight; however, it has a safety bar and the handle is perpendicular to blade motion like a normal SE.
Justin, are they the Blue Star or the Gem by Personna? We'll chat later, I gotta run...gotta get ready for work... See y'all!
As far as I can recall, the package just said Gem and didn't say Blue Star or Personna. The blades look identical to the blades that are from the Gem Blue Star package. I picked them up at CVS which according to everyone else has PAL or Treet. But these clearly said Gem. All I know is they are much nicer. In terms of longevity, the won't last more than 2 days anyway so they are still more expensive than DE blades so I didn't pay that close attention when I bought them.
A Rolls is an S/E to me, you only have the one cutting edge, besides thats how the Gems and Stars started. Ditto here too, thats where I bought my S/E blades and they are Gems. Quite a bit cheaper than Walgreens I might add. Have a good day Matt.
Oh... class is starting, so I am gone for now... but as a science teacher, it is my duty to remind everyone that it is Earth Day.
Hey Justin, I just got those two SE's. Thanks again. ...now if those Treet blades that Fuzzy sent me will get here... I guess I can start with the Blue Star's...
I think I'm in love... Be sure and watch past the 1:00 mark. 2:19 is particulary amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mVpGmoES3w
happy097:happy097 Oh man, I laughed til I cried! funny, funny, funny! be sure to read the comments, too
what a good laught to start the day! thank you veddy much for sharing. I've been in a funk all morning. my son woke up at 0 dark 30 and wouldn't go back to sleep. wanted mama to entertain him. I sent mama to bed and put up with his whining for a little over an hour. and then it's all this "earth day" nonsense on the radio and internets. thank goodness for walton and johnson. but this post made me laugh. thank you. my day is much improved.
so, what do ya'll think of the Miss California fiasco? (this is not a political, religious, PC, or personal conviction discussion) Should a contestant - or for that matter, anyone - be denied victory for a personal belief on such a matter, any matter really? The judge that made his thoughts public should have his votes removed for being biased and bigoted, and not judging fairly, at the very least. It's not a pro- or anti- issue, it's a matter of listening to the contestants answer for a well thought out response, not attacking said contestant for voicing a belief that's different than yours. I've got 3 words for that judge, whoever he was: Go Suck Eggs! same goes for a teacher that withholds a higher score for a student whose opinion in a writing assignment differs from the teacher's. Grade/judge based on the writing elements, not on your emotional response! /rant /restart rant oh, and I'm tired of hearing about it on every tv and radio station /end rant, episode II
Perez Hilton is an idiot pure and simple. I agree completely with your statements. We went through the whole teacher ordeal earlier this year when my oldest son recieved a poor grade because his/our political beliefs didn't match the teachers.
