Been a busy day around here but a good day at the mailbox

 

Hey there Dom. Question for your on the Rolls PIF.

I just read the posting, and I see where you state, "a TSD member for at least 3 months at the time of posting." Now does that mean from the day you posted the PIF or the day someone posts their reply.

Now if you are going by date of reply, I joined on Feb. 22nd and could sneak one in right before the end of the PIF.

I won't do that of course, because I never interacted with the gentleman but one time before he passed.

I read in the post by his son thanking you all for helping him through his rough times in life. In my own worthless opinion, I would state be a member for at least 3 months at the time of his passing, just to be sure it went to someone who really knew him.

Just my 2 cents though.

 

Pam: what goodies did you get in the mail?

Bill, I think Date of PIF is the 3 month mark, so you are all set to give it a go.

We discussed and concluded that we didn't want it to be a PIF just for people that knew Rolls. I think the wording can be better in that statement, however. I'm going to go edit the post to say that entrants must have registered on or before February 23rd.

How's that sound?

But, I still will pass. I just wouldn't feel right if I somehow won, especially if I'm only 1 day inside the cutoff. I'm very content with the Newbie winnings I received and interacting with the great people on this board.

I got: Velobra Almond soft soap...nice stuff! A new stainless lidded shave bowl for my Pink Ivory set made for my by Bob, a badger brush since I have never used one yet, and another Gillette New razor That brush smells worse than a wet ferret :happy102 Don't get too excited, it's not a top of the line brush, but it's definately dead badger!

Wow, that's a full mailbox. Some folks shampoo and condition their brushes to help get the funk out more quickly.
What is this pink ivory set?
and have you posted photos of you Parker pens? It sounds fascinating.

 

I had bob make me a razor and brush set for my birthday. I washed the stinky brush out with some shampoo and it smells quite a bit better. I haven't posted any pen pics yet. with the camera I've got you wouldnt see much anyway. I have a friend with a nice camera she'll let me use though.

 

Brush, handle, and replated head by Bob's razorworks!

Thanks for getting the PIF up and running DOM, we appreciate the work and effort that you have put into this endeavor of ours.

Not much to report other than I hate these days where it is below freezing when I leave for work but will be in the 70s on the way home.
