My usage of soap and shave cream has been fairly consistent over the last 5 years of tracking. Shaving cream and artisan soaps in their containers or shave sticks avg 3-5 grams per shave. This tracks fairly readily with me finishing most artisan soaps or commercial creams within 30-45 shaves. Harder soaps avg 2-3 grams per shave. The one exception thus far has been MdC which is on track to last around 180 -200 shaves or so.

That's great news Charlie. With all my colon issues, I have lost count of the number of colonoscopies I have endured. Charlie's right. If you are due, make your appointment now.

I would join you with the flat bottom Tech shave but mine is still in transit on the planet somewhere (i hope!).
The WS black is the mildest razor i have ever used (by a country mile) and followed next by the 34c. (Thus my suggestion)

My next shaving acquisition should really be a vintage shaving brush!

Thank you, Andrew! It's hard to beat a Fatboy or a Slim! The RT is a good razor, but it doesn't glide as well as the others. Now, it could be just this specific RT. It is not my technique or the soaps because it has happened time and time again and not with my other Gillettes. Like I said, I have to buffer more to get a BBS shave and that's with a brand new blade. So I have to say that I am not disappointed with the razor, but I expected a better performance with it.

i hope you receive the tech soon.bit of a narrow curve to it but once you dial it in they are great..if i want really mild i go post war tech or rr mamba.i am really dialed in with these old gillettes and can pick a razor from the bunch when needed.,hence my lack of need/use for adjustables..:).looking forward to seeing you next vintage brush..

Glad it's done and that you don't have to think about it for a while.
