Everyone seems to have a favourite budget product. For me, it is a Palmolive shave stick... now, if you're adding quality of scent as a variable then that's a different conversation!
I'm pretty close to where you are at these days, Gary. If I wanted to save money on soaps, I wouldn't have 20 tubs open...

My wife was keeping ot granddaughter one day and turned around and she was sitting in the middle of the kitchen table. You had to watch her and when she learned to walk the bar stools became ladders.

Thanks, Jim. Good question on the Maol/CL comparison. The Maol has a different face feel that CL. Not as unique a face feel as the almost 'sticky/thick' (not meant to be a negative, but it sounds like one!) CL feeling, but do have the excellent soothing/healing effect of CL products. The scents are not as diverse as CL, but are very original in their own right. They are not simple or straight forward and both I have (Heliopteris and Frankinlime) has a citrus bend to me. Probably due the Grapefruit seed oil that is an ingredient in both- both are very pink coloured, fwiw. Someone on here called Maol a 'Canadian CL'... I don't think I'd go that far yet, but I'm racking my brains thinking of anything else in my den besides CL that is better in terms of face feel and uniqueness of scents.

Straights look really cool, but i hope i can stick with DE:s (well, i already have a parker srx, so that is going really well, not). I would not be able to get a straight sharp enough with the equipment i have, so i would have to spend a lot to get decent stones and a strop etc

Thanks Gary. I kept a food log yesterday to make sure I ate and drank enough, and my Bride and I did some light exercise. I weighed myself several times yesterday and again this morning to make sure I wasn't dehydrated. I'm sure what I did wasn't perfect, but it worked well enough.
