Just got back from an emergency run to the house.

TWGW called and said, "It sounds like a hive in the kitchen! Get. Home. Now!"

So I loaded up the truck and moved to Bever--- oh wait, sorry... got my butt to the house, thinking, "Ahh, it's probably just a couple of horseflies in the window or something."

Holy crap.

It was like 2 dozen (honey?) bees swarmed around the lights/windows in the kitchen and the laundry.

Pest control can't get here until after 6:30, and we had plans to be at a friends at 6. crap crap crap.

To top it all off, I need to take my cat to the vet tomorrow... she's lost so much weight, I'm worried about her.

Red letter day.

Hi All. Home from work and gonna have a late dinner tonight. Will probably belly up to the workbench and crank out some pens in the meantime; it's a nice way to relax (and I need to get caught up with the queue!). Been quiet in here this afternoon. Got Milla on the brain...

I just payed for a nice looking <in the pictures> Ever Ready auto strop razor on tha bay. WOOHOO. I do believe that it will use standard SE blades, and the valet Strop that I have. WOOHOO!!

 

Very cool, Cal. Sounds like a fun razor. I'm kind of looking for a Rolls - there seem to be a lot of them out there, so I'm hoping to find a nice one. So many razors (and pens), so little time...

Yea there are several razors I am working on getting. I have a DE star WWII era in a box that looks like my GEM plastic slid top box's that I am thinking about now. Being a military model it might shave aggressive enough.

 

Question: Your military 1912 (black ribbed pot metal handle). Would you call that aggressive? I've shaved with mine 3 days in a row now, and while it feels aggressive, it's not the least bit irritating...

 

I would call it smooth as all get out. It surprised me how good it felt. As good as the heavy ornate handle.. <Dave is gonna kill me for that one>
