Day 2 with the test soap. Today I used Nathan's @merkurman lathering method and the results were outstanding:
The lather was glistening and the consistency of fresh yogurt. Yummy.
    IMG_1133.jpeg
The soap, itself, is a firmish croap, which, when pressed, will give, but not even close to a cream. Once again, the "scent-less" product has a very mild, natural, soap-like scent. Yesterday I compared it to churned butter, today, the image of a newly-opened bar of Ivory soap came into my mind. The produced lather is quite stable, without any dissipation during the pass. Slickness was excellent, as I was able to buff freely on all regions of my beard. One could make a pass after rinsing, as the residual slickness remains---as long as your face is wet; not damp, but wet.
Post-shave was better today, none of the tautness I experienced yesterday. I have no explanation for that.
Tomorrow, I am going to grab a straight razor and see how this soap protects my skin and if my blade can swipe freely.

    Good afternoon, gentlemen
DSC_0274.JPG Two pass shave today. My skin was really dry to begin with, but i still got a decent shave. Little bit of redness right under my nose and around the corners of my mouth, but nothing major, might just be from the dryness. Had to load more soap between passes, the brush seems to be a bit of a lather hog.
I had to follow up the balm with a small amout of Nivea men creme.

Nice shave this morning with Gillette Foamy Menthol/Stoylin Glacial Sharp Dressed Man. The two chilled products together worked out fine. However, don't look for me to use this combination on New Year's Day!! I do hope that tomorrow will be the last of the warm/hot days this year, but ya just never know here in Weirdweatherchusetts.

I've never been able to get any of my soaps to look like THAT on the brush. Ice-cream cone!!

I am getting the itch to move up to nicer plating projects for sure, and I agree there are a number of Techs that would look awesome plated in gold or rhodium.

To date I have practiced new plating processes with spent 5.56 brass. This time I am looking for a practice piece that I won't feel bad if I destroy, but has use if I manage to do it right. I think I will gold plate a Baili BT131 or even a BD179. Depending on the results, the next project will be a fat handled tech or NEW LC, then a Slim.

Perhaps you will see posts about both in DECember.

I am moving a little slow this morning. Like @Primotenore I was approached by a soap maker to test new soap base. The soap arrived in the mail yesterday and I decided to transfer it into my new bowl. I will use the soap daily through the end of the month before revealing the maker. I wet the CH2 and shook out the excess water and began loading the soap. I added water to the bowl as I loaded and started face lathering. As I lathered I added water several times. The soap base is very stable and can take on additional water with ease. I wet my face between each pass to check residual slickness. The residual slickness was enough for me to make a complete pass without adding lather. I skipped my normal routine of Thayer's witch hazel to better judge post shave feel which I found very good. I am looking forward to using the soap for the remainder of the month. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

Nice shave this morning, with a new Personna GEM blade in my GEM Junior. The Razorock Orange Sunrise has a tangerine kinda scent. The lather was good, no issues with that. My new, old brush (does that make sence??) worked like any boar brush does.
3 passes on the face, 2 passes on the head, a small weeper on the chin, that's unusual. I did go over the chin more than 3 times, I know better, well.
Now the Lucky Tiger was a surprise, smooth, no alcohol to catch the rough spot on the chin, well somthing maybe, anyway, nice.
    20190922_094928.jpg

Shame no matching after shave and the like, Lucky Tiger is a nice complement though. Lucky me huh.
Haven't had much time to respond to all the great work happening here. From straight razors, wonderful blue, great green, glorious stank, it's all good, great reports.
I try to post, when there is something notable ;).
Took about 3 hours, on and off, to finish this one post.

To Jon @BlueShaver , congrats on the CT. I didn't think that was going to happen.
    Never crossed my mind.
There's no room under my avatar for all of the "embarrassing" things I post. Someday a book on them will come out. They'll just have to put up a link to it. ;)

    To all
    Enjoy
