    ???~~Simpson 2 "Chubby" Synthetic~~Friodur~~Old Spice Lime AS

Shave #3 with the mystery test soap. I will remind you that this is a tallow-based soap without added scent.
The texture is that of a firm croap, being somewhat pliable.
The "unscented" soap does have a slight buttery scent. I have been leaving this soap uncovered since day one and the scent has continued to dissipate. What scent there is, is almost indiscernible.
With this shave, I have challenged the soap to provide a slick enough base to facilitate a smooth and "stutter"-free straight razor shave. I chose a razor with a very keen edge and one that I usually have no issues with, regarding tugging: a Friodur 472.
Lather was created with a synthetic brush today. The CH2 had a good soak and I allowed much of the water to remain in the knot. On a dry puck, I began to load. This brush is renowned for "eating up" soap and today was no exception. Got a good load on:

To my eye, the soap still needed some hydration, and while face-lathering, I did just that.
This soap can take a lot of water and still remain stable.
    The lather gets shiny quickly.
The first pass was smooth, indeed I was able to make multiple passes over the same area, never feeling as if I was irritating my skin.
The real challenge, naturally, is ATG, and this soap was slick enough to allow the blade to remove some extremely coarse hair on my chin, without tugging at all.
These days, it's not hard to find soaps that are good-very good. Most are very good. A few are bad and a few are amazing.
This soap sits strongly in the very good pack.
The post-shave is very nice. My skin feels nourished and not dry. The protection is excellent.
I have yet to cut or nick myself with a shavette, DE and a straight.
The price point, from what the manufacturer has told me is around $15 for 5oz.
I can safely say that this is a high-quality soap. My skin has had no negative reactions.
    Have a great day!

I wish i could find more of them for cheap here in finland. Most razors i see for sale are Rotbarts in bad condition. Some Gillettes for sure, but they are usually a bit more expensive. I almost bought a Solingen Upsal, but didn't, as i'm trying to not spend too much.

Good morning Gary. I have a 59 red tip that my girlfriends father dug out of the ground. I told him the previous owner probably cut himself and then buried it. Would be interesting to know how it made its way down that deep. Still debating on whether to fancy it up again or just use it . Plating is 90% gone other than handle. Seems to be part brass and part copper .

Excellent shave, post, pic and setup, Joseph! I am glad that I guessed your straight razor pick. Friodurs are known to keep a sharp edge for a long time. Plus, they are simply beautiful razors.
