    Without linking (!)
It seems DG soaps disappear out of the tub rather fast. This leads to a high $/shave ratio.
Some speculate that users are using too much soap. Other speculate that DG is actually more of a cream and thus one should not expect triple-milled lifespans.
I just wonder what your experience of it was, especially so given your admitted heavy soap usage.

Wonderful report and photo Joseph. I concur with your thoughts on the soap. I did not pay for the soap and am not receiving any remuneration for my comments. I was simply asked to let Mohammad know what I thought of the soap.

    Can i ask a question?

Have you any idea what your better half is thinking as she watches you potter off down to the end of the garden with your shaving equipment and camera...?

    Just curious...

Thank you Jason. My last one was a murder trial that took over a week. At least it didn't take any longer than that for the trial and one full day for us to find the guy guilty.

Many times, she picks the places for the photos. Most all the time she makes the final choice in which photo gets used for the SOTD photos. My wife has been very supportive of shaving as a hobby. It is much cheaper than motorcycles and more socially acceptable than guns. Overall I have a winner.

Now I want comment on what the neighbors must think. ;)

    If i may,
The Astra is a sharp blade. Too sharp for me and i suffer nicks with it. I find the Proraso a bit wanting on slickness as well. The two together could be causing the razor to drag a little, rucking up the skin and causing you the issues.
for the 34c, and as @Primotenore would say, ride the cap and let the blade do the work, not the razor. The 34c is mild but efficient and will bite if not treated with respect.
That said, With this gear, technique really trumps tools.
Experiment with the lather as well, try a sloppy vs stiff lather. Some soaps really slick up if hyper hydrated.
Prep is key as well, plenty of water pre-shave.
Hot water at first will get the whiskers wet, whilst a quick pre 1st pass splash with cold can tighten and firm up the skin.

My knee-jerk response to weepers and nicks is too much pressure and poor angle.

Best of luck and keep us informed.

    Good morning guys
    Gillette Fatboy E2 (9)
    Rockwell DE (2)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS
    Nivea Men's ASB (not pictured)
I did something a little different in my lathering. I swirled my brush with very little water to get like a powdery paste on my tips. I continued to add miniscule amounts of water to still get that consistency on the brush so that when I face lathered, it was difficult to brush the soap leaving a very sticky paste with skin showing. It was ok because that was my plan. Added small amounts of water many times until I got that white sheen. The lather wasn't yogurty, but it was a nice solid, uniform lather just like I see on you tube videos. The Fatboy did an amazing job mowing my 43 hour stubble on pass one that I could have been done. Finished with 2.5 passes, 1 weep, minor neck irritation with baby in hand. Matching aftershave and then Nivea topped off this shave. Have a blessed day guys. 20190924_105429.jpg 20190924_105429.jpg

Nice shave and setup, Joe! I like that there are multiple ways to get a great Stirling lather.

    Nice Jim! Wonderful pic too.
    Great shave Gary!
    Awesome Perry!

    Fantastic Jim!

    Looks great Clint!

Nice shave Terry! See some Happy campers there . Great job.

You may have lost your angle and nicked yourself. Once you perfect your technique you can shave with anything....even a butterknife.

    Excellent combo Blair!

    Awesome stuff Paul!

Beautiful pic and shave Doug. When I first seen the pic I thought of @wchnu setting shave bowls up for target practice. Hows the weather down your way? Rain and more rain here in the East.

    Very nice Jason!

Cant go wrong with skin stretching. I like your setup btw.
