Congratulations, Jon! You have made some terrific progress, and I applaud your efforts. We will be here to cheer you on toward your goal.

My Bride and I have spent time in England, Wales, Italy, Germany, and Israel over the past couple of years. It made me very aware of my weight problem (most folks there were slim and trim) and my poor condition (long walks with many steps were routine). It was an eye-opener for me. I didn't agree with everything I saw, but I envy the more active and simple lifestyles we often observed while we were traveling. It has changed how we think and live.

I split it with my Bride. In essence, it was a light treat. My restraint exceeded my expectations. :)

Every wet shaver should at least try MWF. My puck wouldn't last 30 days.

I shared this one, Terry, but one spoon for each hand is a very nice idea. ;)

I will, at some point. I'm now on day 12 with my current setup. After that i'll probably try the Arko creams i have

Genuinely, i have no idea how shavers can struggle with MWF.
In my experience, it is one of my easiest soaps to lather and use.

Regardless, getting it going is a common complaint though and i wonder if it is perhaps manufacturing inconsistency or just very sensitivity to lather technique or water quality which makes it so.

30 days? It is a shaving soap Joe, not a pre-shave snack! :p

    Make it 3.

I will be weighing it before and after the month to gauge my usage per shave :bounce017:

I adore a nicely turned wood soap bowl. So much better than much of the plastic crap stuff comes in these days.

October looks like a real 30 day challenge is ensuing. I just ordered a new puck at the Mens Room Barber Shop store for $16.45 delivered. Best price I could find. So, I am good for the month.

I'm thinking water quality has a lot do do with it. I have very hard water (runoff from the Rocky Mountains). I've gotten two different types of lather with MWF. Thick and pasty that dries out on my skin or light and fluffy. The light and fluffy is usable but doesn't wow me. In this form I feel like the lather has no residual slickness and the post shave sucks. I haven't been able to achieve any sort of creamy slick lather with MWF. And to be honest after spending a month with Stirling I wonder if it's even worth the hassle.
