Right....no menthol in winter. I gave up gels, because their strong scent knocked out that of my aftershaves.

Yes, and then you'd make me stand in a corner facing the wall until the experiment was over, which I would certainly deserve. :). But seriously, I am that way more often than not....It's always been hard to figure out.

@PLAla , I've been getting e-mails with offerings from Just 4 Men. They sound good until you see the "Oh, by the way, you have to spend $20 or more on your order". Neaupe. But I've been looking at their selections..I think I'll make a play for one-just not sure when. The Redwoods or theAgave.

Clint, I am quite alarmed to see that your new shaving bowl has a significant yet barely detectable defect in it. No worries, friend; you can send it to me and I will fix it for you and then return it... eventually... maybe... or not.

Rick, I have the BV1900TS with the stainless insulated carafe, the basket that rests on it, and no heat plate. It makes a great cup of coffee. The carafe is handy for us, since we make a pot, carry it to the basement, and drink hot coffee for the next hour or so. It's easy to take apart and clean. BTW, the "hack" for cleaning the carafe is to pour in a generous amount of dish washer soap followed by boiling water and let it sit for an hour. The coffee reside will rinse right out.

It has no bells and whistles...our preferred kind of coffee pot. Just an on/off switch, but it does have the ability to pre-soak the grounds before it starts brewing.

I wish it was bigger, however. It brews eight 5 oz cups. That's more like four cups in my house. And you're correct about the brewing basket. You have to find a place to store it when the carafe is out on mission. The hanging basket is an improvement for sure.

Most people over here rave about Moccamasters. I think it's overrated, but you can get spare parts for it easily which is a good thing.
I use a cheap Bosch, works well enough for me.

I looked at some different coffee makers before I got this one. It was the best-seller on Amazon at the time and costs somewhere around $100. We're not coffee snobs (my favorite coffee is free coffee :) ) , but it appears they like this one. That's the most we've ever paid for a coffee maker. I can get by with a $20 Mr. Coffee maker pretty well. I like models with no bells and whistles that I can take apart and clean. In addition to coffee residue, we have minerals in our water that need to be cleaned out periodically. Other than that, we don't replace any parts and we'll get 5 to 10 years out of one.

I also have a French Press and a small manual coffee bean grinder that are fun to use occasionally.

We rented a condo a couple of years ago, and the coffee maker went belly up. We immediately went out and picked up a $17 Black and Decker. It has survived two hurricanes (Nate and Michael), and I'm pretty sure it's still humming for vacationers in that condo.

So I had no idea what MWF stood for. The urban dictionary says "Married White Female" or "Monday Wednesday Friday". I assumed we weren't shaving MWFs on MWF, because my wife is supportive at times and at least paitent with my hobbys the rest of the time, that might be a shave too far. So, I dug a little deaper. Mitchell's Wool Fat sounds interesting.

September was a soap buying month for me. I will have to pass.

Looking forward to October. I don't use my OC razors nearly as much as I should.
