    Well, well
    Good Saturday morning to all.
My Friday has leaked into Saturday causing a disturbance in the force.
Not sure when I'm gonna shave, sometime when I get home.

Happy Saturday. The weekend at last. No rest for the weary this morning. I am up early with the wife to attend another local fall festival. As usual my duty will be to carry all her purchases. :) The "Soap Destroyer" ate through the GD Fortis soap whipping up a wonderful rich slick lather. Three passes and buffing the neck caught the baby with ease. A splash of Dominica Grand Bay Rum aftershave and I am ready for morning of shopping. ;) I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.

    Good morning!

Epic shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Silent alum.

I rarely use the term epic to describe a shave, this may be just the second time, but yeah, epic.

Stirling Pumpkin Spice for this fine morning. The aftershave has a really nice burn from the cinnamon. My wife says I smell like autumn.

    Have a great weekend![IMG]

I’ve got plenty of vintage gear with patina on it that I enjoy just the way it is. I also have an aristocrat that I replated in gold to make it look super shiny and new. I enjoy both for different reasons, so, for me it just comes down to whatever makes you happy.
I do agree with you that I’d be hesitant to replate a family heirloom or something very old and rare, but most DEs are a dime a dozen, so, again, I think it comes down to whatever makes you happy.

    Thank you, Gary.
I appreciate the feedback, Gary. I am rethinking whether to have them re-plated.
I seem to benefit from close supervision.

Thanks for the feedback, Evan. I appreciate it. You guys have me noodling on other options.

I project "maybe Stoylin maybe not" as the second-place finisher. Stoylin has a 5 pt. lead, but I think that's safe enough with just 3 days remaining in the month,.

Sorry about the rough shave, Patrick. Assuming there's nothing mechanically awry with the razor, you'll grow to love using it. You've done a superb job on the restoration.

    Tallow or non-tallow?
    Bonavita or Aeropress?
    Re-plate or no?
