    just heard rumor that a school around Dallas just closed due to pig fly....errr, swine [slash]flew[/slash] flu.....any of our DFW brethren want to confirm?

    I heard something about that on the radio this morning. I just looked up the details. Apparently it was Canyon Creek Elementary in Richardson (oh my... I'm in Richardson.) One confirmed case, one probably, and one possible at the school.

    There is a possible case in Tarrant county as well, but that kid is almost fully recovered.

    Swine flu doesn't scare me too much, as it doesn't seem to be any more severe than a typical flu. The scary thing about it is that it is a novel virus that we don't have a group immunity to. That means it will spread quickly and hit a lot more people than a typical flu. It may hit the very young and elderly pretty hard.

    I saw a post on another site earlier suggesting that instead of calling it "swine flu" we should call it "bacon lung". Sounds far less threatening that way. :happy102

    Oh, and what do you think of the new look over on ONS?
