It's Stirling SEptember. Whatcha got planned??

    Still almost 100 post behind, but I got out to Bed Bath & Beyond and picked up a digital scale to check my MWF usage. The packaging for a new puck suggests 125 grams, but my $20 scale says 118 without the wrapper. Could be some evaporation or dehydration happens between the maker and my den. When installed in the ceramic tub it totaled 366 grams. Lather shot!
    Lather shot - 1st use.gif How much soap did I use? Negative two grams because the tub & puck now weigh 368 grams. I've heard folks talk about the puck swelling to fill the tub. Mine started 1/2 inch or so smaller diameter. I'll be watching to see how it acts.

    Beware of the bloomaphobes!

    Shoulda looked at an Aeropress while there.

    The Mrs. and I were there yesterday for some stuff. Her phone died so I fired up her email on mine to look for discount coupons. Found a 20% on everything....... we went deeper for more stuff. Saved $80.

    I followed @PLAla suggestion of grating the puck and pressing it back into the ceramic bowl. It's nice when loading the brush that the soap fills the entire container.

    It's dried out a lot. Using it everyday will hydrate it enough to fill the tub. I use Perry's method and just grate the soaps and press them in the container. It makes using it much easier in from the start.

    @jluc I got another A&E soap in yesterday. I ordered "Dirty Ginger" soap and aftershave. Very interesting scent that I hope I like. ;)

    SEptember happens, well kind of.

    Mitchell's Wool Fat shave soap
    Omega Pro #10098 boar brush
    Suribachi bowl and cool water
    The Bunny w/ Wild comb
    Schick "Chick" blade
    RazoRock alum, Avon Spicy AS
    SOTD 09282019 1st use MWF.gif OK, the MWF likes my water. After soaking the old boar brush for a couple minutes it got well shook out. Straight to an unbloomed dry puck, swirled for 20 seconds or so, into the damp bowl. Easy lather, added a dribble across the bristle near the handle a couple times to gently incorporate hydration. I produced a smooth, thick, juicy batch that was just 10% more than I needed for the shave. No dissipation during my 3-1/2 passes. Plenty of residual, slip and slide as good or better than many of my other soaps. Though The Bunny by Tom @twhite can bite I've enjoyed plenty of error free uses even with the Wild comb that gives the more blade exposure. The lather rinsed of easily from my gear & face leaving just a light scent in the air. Alum swiped quietly, and the Old Spice knock off went on with out undue burn. It's got a little menthol kick that makes it nice, too. I'll be face touching often to see how the lanolin feels with a nice DFS+ finish.

    I am not sure. I am having trouble with the members section of their website to verify. It's a funky scent for sure. Below is their notes on the scent.

    "Dirty Ginger is a contradiction of naughty & nice. It starts out with a peppery citrus (Pink Pepper & Calabrian Bergamot), quickly followed by a spectacular ginger note. It almost has a ginger ale vibe to it. I have added a beautiful white ginger accord to help this pop a bit more. The rum is there, but strictly as an accent...I wouldn't call this boozy at all. In addition, added tobacco absolute for a different dimension and a bit more complexity.

    I've been expanding my horizons as far as scents go so that one sounds very interesting to me.
    I've recently added B&M Lavanille and Clusterfig along with PAA Lather Blaster 3000, Pineapple Bay Rum and Blue Samhain on the way.

    Yeah, I made the mistake of rearranging and reorganizing my shelves to make things more easily accessible. Basically I made room for more stuff as it turns out.
