My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Deluxe Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #224 Brush. I did two passes with the 1902 Kampfe Brothers/Star Lather Catcher razor with a Vintage Gem Cutlery SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Big Boar Brushes are notorious "Lather Hogs". Yes, pun intended. I've written about it, several times, in the past. It takes a lot of soap to load these big brushes, that's one reason I like using Arko. Lather like you stole it.
Oh, you will also find, it should become less lather thirsty, over time.

After the miserable time that I had with that Dorco blade yesterday I threw it out as well as the remaining two hundred and fifty which I had and I put in a brand new Shark - what a difference. I’ll admit that these blades don’t have the greatest longevity either but they’re still to me, a hell of a lot better than the Dorcos. Five minutes of blooming brought out the Reitzer soap’s beautiful old school barbershop type scent, the lather was so rich, slick, as well as ultra protective, and the postshave feeling was brilliant. What I would do to have access to this marvelous soap here in Canada. It felt so good to massage my face with the Fino balm, and the Polar Ice aftershave’s scent is right up my alley. Three fun filled passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave!

I don't use the Red Tip (C2) 1957 as everything is pristine, so I shave with the Red Tip (A3) 1955. This is my favorite Gillette razor. The brush is amazing along with the Reef Point Soap Tranquility. Finishing off the 2 pass shave with Fine L'Orange Noir makes for the best of shaves.

A Super Sunday Shave

Razor: Gillette FB Super Slim Twist
Blade: Personna chrone (#3)
Soap: B&M Fern
Brush: 404 Badger/Boar

Really, really digging this Super-slim. It is so well balanced and agile to use. Lovely and gentle as well for a great, great, daily shaver. Don't let the plastic or weight fool you into thinking this is a poor quality, cheap effort from Gillette. It is super!

The soap worked great as well. Post-shave is fantastic and slickness was ok as well. Lathered up easy enough into a "low structure lather" as the maker so intended:


Still not settled with the brush for face lathering soap though. It still has a Badgers prickle and seems to be a bit of a lather hog. Gonna try it with creams which i think may suit it better.

All in all a good shave. Very comfortable and a perfect way to start a Sunday

Nice! I don't have the Super Slim Twist, just the non-super one, but it is a great razor. Very underappreciated in my opinion
