Thanks. It really is underappreciated. It doesn't wear the top hat and tails of the Aristocrats but it is every bit as good to use.

Come to think of it, i don't think Gillette ever made a stinker of a Safety razor? They all shave great!

    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

Bath Soap - Early American Old Spice Bubble Bath and matching Bar Soap circa 1930's
    [IMG]
Razor - Gillette Superspeed (circa 1947-1952) (Re-plated in Nickel Finish by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - [IMG] *5th shave
Shave Brush - Vigshaving Nylon Synthetic
    Pre-shave Oil - Lather & Wood "unscented"
Shave Soap - Vintage Shulton - Early American Old Spice Bar Soap
Aftershave - Thayers Witch Hazel *mentholated
Post-Shave Product - Vintage Shulton - Early American Old Spice Talc Powder
Deodorant - Vintage Shulton - Early American Old Spice Talc Powder
Fragrance - Vintage Shulton - Early American Old Spice circa 1930's

****EDIT - Changed the shave to an all-vintage lineup. I used pre-shave oil to enhance skin protection, used my custom-mentholated Thayers Witch Hazel, then applied the talc powder to my newly shaved skin, just like in the olden days. And you what? It came out fantastic! 1-Pass + clean up. Although it's not like a smooth, moisturized feel like I'm used to but rather my skin feels like dry, smooth marble. I'm really liking this. I used the talc powder as an underarm deodorant too. Excellent old-school shave using the products of the by-gone age.

The bar soap's lather breaks up and thins out within a few minutes, so I kept having to re-buff the lather every so often. The pre-shave oil was a smart move, but I don't know how much of a part the oil played in the lather going thin. Also my water is among the hardest, most calcified in the country, so they also doesn't help. Only the very best soaps hold up under this water.

I could not agree more with your assessment of Mayflower. I loved the sample I received so much but then they stopped making it for about a year. Then at Maggard's this year they had it back in stock and I snatched up a full tub and a couple of AS's. I really like the scent, especially for a floral. Enjoy those shaves my friend.

Really? I have a few of those blades which cane with my last razor. Are vintage WS blades still usable?

I have updated my shave with a new picture and went with only the original products to ensure that classic scent is true (although PAA Cold Spices pairs perfectly with it, I just wanted the classic scent untouched.)

For Monday, a repeat of today, although:

    Brush-Crown King Spindle Duro Tali(26mm).

It was a little too warm out for today's shave, but it will be a BIT cooler tomorrow, thus perhaps more comfortable for it.

My 2 month old slept 6 hours last night, and I got to use the TNNSER! It's a good day! Fotor_156978454344787.jpg
